LOS ANGELES, CA - 10/07/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET) — Actor and recording artist, Camryn Howard, also known as CAM30 (pronounced cameo), is producing and co-directing his first film anthology, “Requiem for Remorse.” Originally inspired from a music video, “Work is Bae” featuring first-born son of historic west coast rapper Nate Dogg, Lil’ Nate Dogg, “Requiem For Remorse” will be released October 28, 2016. CAM30 has teamed up with director, Ryan Williams and Creative Direction Studios to extend the storyline. The short film will feature videos for Camryn's songs: “Work is Bae”, “Blessing and Lessons” and “White Horse”.
The short features HSN model Lori Livingston as well as actress and Grammy nominated recording artist, Jenice Dena Portlock, known popularly as Sabi (Cobra Starships, Britney Spears). Films such as Michael Jackson’s “Moonwalker” and psychological thriller “Donnie Darko” inspired CAM30 to take his original music video and transform it into a scripted thriller.
“I’m a fan of science fiction and psychological thrillers such as ‘Prometheus’, ‘Inception’ and ‘Mr. Nobody’,” says CAM30. “This was a baby step in integrating these ideals into a musical piece.”
Camryn Howard is no stranger to the small and big screen. In 2015, CAM30 landed the role of DJ Speed in the NWA biopic, “Straight Outta Compton”. The film directed by F. Gary Gray went on to receive critical acclaim and numerous awards including an Academy Award nomination for “Best Original Screenplay”. Now CAM30 is ready to showcase another talent of his in the music industry.
“Music has been a part of my life since I can remember,” recalls CAM30. “One memorable moment for me was Michael Jackson’s ‘Smooth Criminal’ video. Two Italian girls who were my neighbors showed me the movie and image of him dancing with a machine gun. That left a lasting impression on me because it blended film with music at a time where it wasn’t seen or done before.”
CAM30 will be releasing each chapter of the trilogy weekly following up to the release of the full short film. With Halloween right around the corner, “Requiem For Remorse” will definitely leave fright seekers and music lovers alike a haunting impression.
