Jai FromDaWay is Pittsburgh’s last Hip Hop Hero; he has rhymed for as long as he has been able to speak. After hearing Rappers Delight as a boy he started his career as an emcee in 1980. His love of music specifically Hip Hop led him to found the independent label, Sinate Sounds Recordings in 2000, where he presides as President. He entered the Hip Hop arena in 2006 with the debut album T.O.PA as a member of the group Da Sinate.
Jai FromDaWay comes from Pittsburgh, PA’s most famous district “The Hill.” His Hip Hop roots trace back to the Pittsburgh’s pioneers Mel-Man and DJ Double KK. He is the complete package, Emcee, DJ, Producer and B-Boy. Jai FromDaWay is a multitalented emcee who has the ability to reinvent himself with each rhyme while remaining loyal to his Hip Hop roots. His flow and sound are unlike any you have ever heard. His emcee style can be described as raw, gritty, and real.
Jai FromDaWay says “Hip Hop is not a hobby for me I am here to etch myself into the history of the music and culture.”
After my return to Hip Hop I am back and ready to smack emcees with my follow up to Off the Wall, Thriller da Mixtape. Off the Wall sat me comfortably among Pittsburgh’s Hip Hop legends and now my journey is leading me on a 22 track ride to Hip Hops center stage. With this mixtape I am knocking emcees out with my right and left hook.
I exhibit my talents as a microphone magician on songs such as, Respect My Gangsta and Worry ‘Bout Me. I keep the party going with songs like We Up remix and Startin’ Somethin’. I express my love for his Pittsburgh, my Hill Ikes, mentors, and hood on the track Feel Like Remix and I of course I include something special for the ladies.
I am joined again by Sinate Sounds own Reez, and SeekRed, production by myself and Big BlitzBurgh, mixing and mastering by Akil Esson and hosting by Pittsburgh’s legendary DJ Big BlitzBurgh. There will be one more mixtape to round out my tribute to the greatest entertain of all time, Michael Jackson and once I give you “Bad” I’ll be releasing my first single from my debut solo album, “Devi’s Smile.” .
