LO is an American Rapper & Producer of Colombian Descent, better known by his stage name LO5TAR.
LO, the oldest of three siblings was born in Miami, Florida, where he was raised by his single mother.
LO started rapping in his first year of middle school and began making beats in his mother's unused walk in closet, spending his youth creating beats & freestyling on them to better understand the concept of creating songs. since an early age LO understood hardships and that ultimately led him and his friends to call him LO5TAR as a way to say your the closest to shine.
LO dropped out his sophmore year and began a life supporting his mother by taking care of his youngest sister. Talking about his upbringing, LO confessed that he was given two options "sell drugs like many others or become an artist in music " this led his decision to lead a life away from the criminal aspect that influenced many in the city of Miami.
In 2012, LO broke free into the scene by promoting himself through acts of good faith that paid off when he was noticed by the former director of power 96 which led to his discovery as beat maker paving the way for lo and his iconic moment when he found out his newly aquired internship would have him mentored by the great Lu Diaz & Ben Billiions. The same year Longrun presented LO with the opportunity to submit music for Rap Artist Vado, two songs produced by LO made it on his mixtape and shortly after Dj Khaled tweeted about the songs (Hiatus & Bad Man)
Fast forward towards the end of 2013 and preplex Productions asked LO to start Re editing the hit songs:
"Bitch Dont Killl My Vibe" By Kendrick Lamar,
"Diced Pineapples" By Rick Ross,
"Im Different" By 2Chainz,
These three Remixes became published on all major hiphop portals, being an incredible shift in creativity by incorporating the official artists live performance into an official music video view of Kendrick Lamar, 2chainz and RickRoss on a LO5TAR Beat.
JustBlaze produced a beat and Lo5tar recorded his rap vocals over it, this song reached number 33, placing him in the top 100 rappers across the nation and solidifying his relationship further with his die hard fans that made it possible through voting.
The biggest milestone for LO5TAR seems to be his recipe of unexpected success as Producer turned Anti Rap God, as he does not willingly accept any rigid rule in genres, Constantly searching and letting go of unneccesary obstacles, he delivers unfiltered raw material at all possible moments of inspiration being a true artist hell bent on free form creativity.
It all started with a simple email.
A quick suggestion to enter into a contest for the throne of best rap song on a Just Blaze Beat, which that coupled with the possiblities of stepping foot on stage at the Hip Hop Family Reunion, A3C Festival gave the inspiration neccesary to create such a track, now standing at number 33 in the top 100 for best rap songs. we are waiting for the review coming november 16 where LO5TAR is more than eligible to win but nonetheless in the event of not winning first place, i give you the satisfaction to know we reached a big milestone in the relationship BETWEEN LO5TAR AND HIS FANS.
