Nyzzy Nyce, aka Nyzzy, stands pensively in a park on the outskirts of his hometown Fort Wayne, Indiana. He reflects, “Being an artist in a smalltown is definitely a tougher task. We work with what we got and we go hard for what we believe in.”
When he was twelve years old, he took up BMX racing at his step dad Gregory’s urging. Gregory lost the ability to walk when Nyzzy was still a child. He ponders, “I would always think, if he could walk again, what would he do?” He took up racing to make him proud.
It started out casually. He practiced downside tailwhips and turndowns on the half pipe at the local skate shop. Improving daily, he wanted to do more. After a year he began racing competitively in BMX events.
They called him a natural. Veterans of the scene began to bet money on him. He ascended rapidly up the charts, becoming the number one rider in his age group at fourteen. He attained sponsorships from Fort Wayne BMX and Gatorade along the way. Number one in two years. It was almost too good to be true…
And it was. He tore his ACL in the summer of 2002, two months into his stint at number one.
After a lengthy recovery, that fiery, competitive spirit that drove his ascent up the rankings parlayed into his newest interest: music. He began freestyling with friends at the lunch table. As time progressed, what began as a distraction slowly evolved into a passion.
Nyzzy worked relentlessly to perfect his craft, releasing a slew of projects along the way. All the while, he prepared himself for bigger and better things, a larger platform to take his music and his message.
The first step came in 2012, when he partnered with non-profit A Better Fort to start the ambitious, collaborative music project called the #MyCity Movement. The movement began as a means to showcase the many talented musicians and artists within the Fort Wayne community and instill a renewed sense of civic pride for residents. Later that year, he founded his own label, Hurricane Music Group.
In his career, Nyzzy has released mixtapes Nothing Nyce and Lost in LA which spawned a successful independent string of momentum including national blog coverage, broadcast and licensing. He is slated to release several projects in 2016.
Nyzzy is a rare breed of an artist who combines his sensibility for social entrepreneurship, altruistic nature, and passion-fueled lyrical ability to create infectious music. He says, “I do something, I fall into it, and I don’t stop.”
“Have You” is the latest music video from @NyzzyNyce off his mixtape, 'Lost In Los Angeles,’ out now. Track produced by Platinum Sellers. Video directed by Miles Meyer (@MilesMeyer).
Nyzzy Nyce releases his new project Lost in Lost Angeles. The project features 15 new songs with production by Twigg. We had a chance to check out Nyzzy Nyce on the Dew Tour with Logic and the set was pretty live. Give this project a listen below.

Nyzzy Nyce has seen a lot for only being 25 years old. The Fort Wayne, Indiana, by way of Los Angeles, rapper not only has shared the stage with some of your favorites like YG, Rich Homie Quan and DJ Mustard, but also has huge licensing synchs with some of your favorite shows and movies such as Get Hard, Beyond the Lights, American Horror Story and Being Mary Jane.
Today we're introducing you to a new MC on these HNHH pages, Nyzzy Nyce. The Fort Wayne, Indiana-bred rapper currently resides in Los Angeles, hence his project tile, Lost in Los Angeles. Nyzzy's had some pretty prime placement for his music in the past, including shows like "American Horror Story," as he journeys on to make himself a household name. Lost In Los Angeles, an album/mixtape, should help to that effect. The project, which is also available on iTunes, features 15 records with production mainly handled by Twigg.
Nyzzy Nyce is dropping off the visuals to the new track “Further” that is off of his new mixtape ”Lost in Los Angeles” that is due out on June 16th. The Los Angeles implant teamed up with Platinum Sellers to produce this feel good track.
Duck Down Records’ newest artist, Nyzzy Nyce of Fort Wayne, Indiana is living it up in his new found home of Los Angeles, California for his latest visual, ‘This Right Here.’
With an easy breezy rugged style, Nyzzy kicks it with his boys and a few pretty ladies on a Cali rooftop. The drinks are flowing, the grill is smoking and so are those in attendance. He’s clearly ready for the party of the year, let’s see if he makes it a summertime anthem.

10 Things You Should Know About Nyzzy Nyce
Modern day acts on the soundtrack include Nyzzy Nyce, Ca$hizz Klay, The National, and JD & The Straight Shot, among many others.
“St. Vincent” is in limited release now, expands into 600-plus theaters tomorrow, and opens nationwide on October 24th. Check out the tracklist and music clips below.
The concept behind Nyzzy Nyze’s new single “All My Life” might not be very original, but we’ll be damned if it ain’t worth supporting.
Behind an instantly catchy hook and buoyant beat, the former BMX bike rider-turnt-rapper delivers a more than respectable reminder that we’re all working towards something and grinding is the only way we’ll get there.
Furthermore, the only reason Nyzzy isn’t riding is because he tore his ACL. Considering rapping is how Nyce got through his recovery, there’s no question about the sincerity in his empowering approach on this noteworthy single.
XXL The Break Presents: Nyzzy Nyce
Fort Wayne, Indiana’s own Nyzzy Nyce shows how nasty he is on the mic in his new video, “I Am The Dopest.” Fresh off of his spanking new mixtape, Nothing Nyce, the 26-year-old turns up in a literally sick video complete with devil horns and creepy masks before an awakening kicker at the end. Check out the bugged-out video above.
Indiana rapper Nyzzy Nyce is back with another video for his upcoming mixtape, Nothing Nyce. The production is just as bleak as it was for “I Just Rather,” but the song as a whole is much more celebratory. Damning the past, Nyzzy hits the streets of NYC and declares his dedication to the present. Watch “Right Now” below.
Factoid: The energy he displays in this video is even more intense at his live show. We saw it.

They say you only get one shot at a first impression. For DJBooth newcomer Nyzzy Nyce, a true first impression equals a bazooka filled with dynamite aimed at a gas station made of firewood. Excuse my excessive description, but I felt is was the only way to capture the explosiveness of new video single I Just Rather....
....Nyce and his hypeman graced the stage in camo gear, diving right into the set with “Brand New.” Energized beyond comprehension, they gave each song their all, even “Nyce Like This,” which Nyzzy somewhat sarcastically introduced as a “crossover” song. Notably, Nyzzy didn’t say much between songs, but his facial expressions made it clear that he was happy to be there. Among his few non-musical words was a thank you to the crowd for rocking with a rapper from Indiana, a state that isn’t particularly known as a breeding ground for rappers (even though there are probably tons of them, waiting for a shot). His set ended with his new single, “I Just Rather,” a sedative ode to marijuana that he somehow infused with energy despite its somber vibe.... See full Article Here

You can catch Nyzzy Nyce featured in the Citizen Wayne video(s). His series is entitled: "Citizen MY CITY".
Citizen Wayne is one part cinematic journalism and and one part character study, chronicling interesting stories, people, and places from Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana.
Citizen Wayne has come a long road. What was originally conceived by our friend Andrew Welfle as a local radio show in the vein of This American Life but for Northeast Indiana eventually morphed into the videos we began producing for the Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana with help from Lincoln Financial Foundation in mid-2012. For too long, Citizen Wayne was an idea and a name without content or a home and we’re grateful to breathe a little life into it again.
But what’s the point? Informing community attachment for one. Our own worst enemy at home has been a negative or uninformed self-perception of ourselves and our own backyard and we think this can be answered by doing a better job of telling our own stories. The Knight Foundation’s 2010 Soul of the Community Study listed community attachment and openness as “opportunities to prioritize” and we couldn’t agree more.
As far as production goes, we made a conscious decision to walk softly and carry a big lens, because these aren’t meant to be commercials. YLNI has commissioned six of these to run into 2013, but we may just end up making more.
Episodes are produced with a skeleton crew (sometimes just one person), with an emphasis on the subject and their environment. Interviews and visuals are also acquired separately and we’ve made a conscious decision to avoid featuring talking heads. We want glimpses and moments that reflected the stories, city, and region we love.
And we hope you dig Citizen Wayne.
Nyzzy is on a mission to take #MYCITY National! A new video involving over 10 cities around the world is in the making and coming soon!

Whatever preconceptions and stereotypes you may also harbor about hip-hop, “My City” should quash them.
“My City” is a persuasive love letter to this city composed of several dazzling displays of rapping prowess and a chorus that, once heard, may never leave your head.
It is a stirring and soaring piece of work, one that any city of any size would be proud to call its own.

HipHop4theCity Premieres Music Video
By Rachel Martin
February 24, 2012
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter)
Non-for-profit, A Better Fort, will show the World Premiere of their music video to the original song, "My City," Friday night as part of the HipHop4theCity community project.
Lights! Camera! Action! A piece of Hollywood is coming to Fort Wayne Friday night. A Better Fort, in partnership with Lynchpin Pictures, Digitracks Recording Studio, super producer Chad Deutsch, and Certiflyyed Music Group, is premiering the long awaited music video, “My City,” that’s been playing over the airwaves for months now.
A Better Fort co-Founders, Shane Araujo and Alex Smith, both Fort Wayne natives, say it’s the largest community driven collaborative hip-hop based project, that they know of, in the state. All the volunteers in the project are either from Fort Wayne, or relocated to the city making it their permanent home. Araujo says many local establishments contributed donations to the project.
“You have to be [from here] to put this much energy into a project,” Araujo said. “We wanted it as a large promotional piece for A Better Fort. We wanted to reach out to the young adults, ages 16 to 26, and hip hop has always been a great way to do that.”
HipHop4theCity is a community based hip hop project that involves the collaboration of 19 local hip hop artists and World Champion children’s choir, Voices of Unity. The organization has been working on the project for nine months now, and even enlisted help from multi-platinum recording rap artist, Mike Jones.
“It’s about showing Fort Wayne off. We’re promoting these awesome artists from Fort Wayne who people might not even know, some of the great landmarks in the city, as well as some other talent like Kelly Lynch from Lynchpin Pictures and his camera crew. I mean this guy will be Spielberg someday!” said Shane Araujo, Co-Founder of A Better Fort.
A shortened version of, “My City,” has been playing on local radio stations, but Araujo says the full-length version is 9-11 minutes long. The video is five and half minutes long, and highlights city landmarks like CS3 (Calhoun Street Soups, Salads, and Spirits), Parkview Field, the Wells St. Bridge, and the legendary Coney Island, to name a few. The video also shows a skyline view from atop the Star Financial building.
Araujo says HipHop4theCity is an effort to get more young people to stay in Fort Wayne and invest in the city’s future. It’s also a way to get the community more familiar with A Better Fort.
“We really want to get young people out and get involved. If you get involved in the city, you're going to have subconscious investment in the city, and that's what we want people to have,” he said. “If we could get two kids to stay back because maybe they found an internship by working with us though HipHop4theCity then we did what we wanted,” Araujo said.
Besides HipHop4theCity, they plan to create a summer basketball league at McMillen Park as well as a group that assist families with handicapped children.
“We want to eventually dig deep into the community, but to do that we need to be able to get out name out there to get the volunteers that we need,” said Araujo. “As long as we can get people to recognize that Fort Wayne is a great place, that’s our end goal.”
The HipHop4theCity music video release party will be held at Columbia Street West,135 W Columbia St., from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. The video will premiere at midnight. "My City" is also available as a free download on iTunes.
