Sikander are a Melbourne-based outfit concocting globally-flavoured club music, with elements of cinematic atmospherics, and bass culture into a groove-laden sonic spread.
Stylistically, they are influenced by leftfield House, Dancehall, Moombahton, and 80s Electro, laced with sun-kissed Balearic grooves and the street-folk rhythms of the Orient.
Sikander are Pradip Sarkar aka Dj Kalimantan (formerly DJ Lord Lingham) in collaboration with live instrumentalists, such as Jeremy Malcolmson (sitar, electric guitar)from the Dub the Magic Dragon, Prem CJ on percsussion, Pete Warren-Smith on bass, and Sathyaki on ek tara and do tara (Indian folk strings).
