Formed in late 2015 in Charlottesville, Va. Tequila Mockingbird got it's start upon dissolution of Eric's former band. After testing the waters with various bands and musicians around the Charlottesville music scene, Eric decided to pursue his vision of a band with no stylistic limitations, one that could flow freely through funk, rock, blues, and any other sound that might come to mind. Setting out to find capable, like minded musicians, Tequila Mockingbird was born through craigslist. Over the course of several months, the band began to take shap,e and a vision for the future began to take hold.
The lineup was solidified upon the Carter Thompson's joining on drums, and Tequila Mockingbird became an original six piece groove rock band. Combining elements from funk, rock, bluegrass, blues, reggae, and anything else that the moment calls for, Tequila Mockingbird has been praised for their exceptional vocal skills, rich harmonies, soaring leads, and a rock solid rhythm section. Their powerful, energetic, and unpredictable live shows are the perfect dance party. On occasion, TM plays as their acoustic alter ego "The American Way", where fans are treated to rare bluegrass and americana versions of their favorite TM originals.
Following a strong debut year in 2016 that saw the band perform on nearly 50 stages, the boys hope to make 2017 a banner year by continuing to wow with their live show, and with the eminent release of a debut album.

Blending the influences of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Fred MacDowell, Bukka White and Lightning Hopkins with the likes of Clutch, Soundgarden, C.O.C, and Rage against the Machine, he forged a fresh sound, alive with the southern blues tradition.
Eli recorded and released his first two albums between 2004 and 2007: the all-acoustic, original-roots album “Miss Blues’ Child” on the Sledgehammer Blues label, and a heavy blues-rock release “ElectricHolyFireWater”. During this time he was invited to open for B.B. King on King's east coast tour. Since then, Eli has shared the stage with Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Parliament-Funkadellic, Gary Clark JR, Roomful of Blues and many others. In 2008, Eli released his third self-produced album, “Static in the Blood", a modern R&B/Rock crossover project featuring ornate experimental studio production. The follow up album, “Ace Jack & King", a return to roots-blues and heavy guitars, received critical acclaim. The All Music Guide proclaimed that Eli could be “the best blues singer of his generation.”
In 2013, Eli signed with LA-based label Cleopatra Records to begin work on his 5th studio album, featuring guest appearances by rock legend Leslie West of Mountain, Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd) Reese Wynans of Double Trouble, Vinny Appici (Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio) and Tinsley Ellis. The album was released in Spring 2014.
