Buckinchute Music recording artist Tom Perkins is an Alabama boy whose heart was created to live in the hills, mountains and draws of Appalachia and rural America. Whether born from the coal miner Welsh blood that runs through his veins, or working cattle with his dad growing up, Tom paints pictures with his music that communicates the various shades of color, beauty and hard livin that is “country”.
Tom writes and sings songs that take you to a point in time and space that encourages you to just listen, and smell, and feel the story that unfolds. Whether that story makes you want to drink, or cry or dance, Tom’s images show both the darker and the lighter sides of human’s coping with life….sometimes in the same song.
Just as our fields, farms and hollers have given way to subdivisions and shopping malls, “urban sprawl” has changed our perception about what is “country music”. Tom’s new album, Country Soul, doesn’t just “sound” country…it IS country, and helps us find ourselves, OUR failings, OUR story and OUR redemption in music that is real, unvarnished and true no matter where you’re from.
