TWINS WAYNE & DUAYNE GRAY
Wayne Rodney Gray - Piano, Keyboards, Percussion, & Vocals
Duayne Gray - Bass, Guitar, Keyboard, Percussion & Vocals
"We have built our style from the many influences of music from the 50's-til now in the form of Jazz, R+B, Funk, Soul, Nu-Jazz, Latin Jazz and some Classical. My brother and I were fortunate to have each other to practice with from the time Duayne learned how to play the Bass in the late 60's while stationed in Germany and me learning the Piano in the early 70’s. We've been blessed to play with some of the greats of our time and now we've started a new journey on our own, writing, arranging and producing our original music.
In 2010 we had our first Cd release party in Chicago that was a great experience for us, and the start of more albums released in the very near future. So keep listening for the new Cds from Gray Matters (Wayne and Duayne Gray)" Their Specialty in music is writing, arranging and producing. Their Dad Richard Gray influenced the twins the most! He played Alto Saxophone and Banjo with Fats Domino They both have performed with: Earth Wind & Fire’s: Louis Satterfield, Art Porter, Garry Young (Gold Boy), Willie Clayton, Roy Ayers, Gene Chandler, Charlie Hosch (Chuckaluck), Garry Young (Gold Boy), and saxophonist Harlan Jefferson. They grew up on Gospel, R&B, and Jazz...along with Rock and Classical music.
They have performed at many venues throughout the USA including:
JAZZIN’ AT THE SHEDD (2014 & 2015 Shedd Aquarium Summer Concert series) - the QUARRY - the HOUSE OF BLUES - the CIVIC OPERA HOUSE - the HOLIDAY STAR PLAZA - the REGAL THEATER - the PARK WEST - the SOUTH SHORE COUNTRY CLUB - the PLAYBOY CLUB - the COTTON CLUB - JOE'S SPORTS BAR - the JAZZ BULLS – the LINGER MARTINI BAR - CHICAGO’s HOME of CHICKEN and WAFFLES – CLOSE UP2 - the M LOUNGE - LaVue and many other places in and around Chicago.

Hi Wayne: I enjoyed meeting you at the Chicago Jazz Festival. Thank you for coming up and introducing yourself and giving me a copy of Gray Matters. I liked several tracks from the CD but “Duayne’s Vineyard” in particular. We will be playing that one in our Wednesday night new music hour sometime soon. I’ll drop you a line beforehand, so you’ll hopefully be able to catch it on the air.
