"Acid Reins" is a band from Troy, NY. The band does a variety of material from progressive rock, blues to jazz and beyond.
The band was founded in April of 2014.
Al Morelli (Drums)
Took private drum lessons for about 2 yrs. At 14 years old Al also took private lessons in high school before getting involved in drum corp. Al's main influence for playing was Neil Pert of RUSH; and Carl Palmer of ELP.
Val Davis (Bass)
Started playing guitar at age 9. Due to being left handed, Val started playing bass at age 10. Val is self taught. Val was influenced to play bass by Steve Harris, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, and James Jamerson.
Michael Maloy (Guitar)
Was taught at an early age to play keyboard by his grandmother. Started playing guitar due to being exposed to the band KISS and influenced by Ace Frehley. Mike is self taught. Other influences are, Neal Schon, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Jimi Hendrix.
The band members desired to get away from the normal cover band trap, and create something different, unusual, and fun.
Acid Reins is a A funk fusion band from Troy, NY. With their brand new self titled "Acid Reins" Release on CD baby they have been making a great a splash through out the upstate scene. The band loves to create and write new music which comes quickly when they get together.
