Seattle guitarist and frontman Ayron Jones (Eh-Rahn), has become one of Seattle's hottest up-and-comers with his brand of Seattle Rock. Jones has taken a hybrid style of guitar playing pioneered by Jimi Hendrix, in which the chord and solo are played at the same time, and infused the raw energy of punk with the inner-city attitude of Hip-Hop. The result is a soulful reincarnation of that iconic Seattle sound. Think, Stevie Ray Vaughan meets Nirvana.
In 2010 guitarist Ayron Jones started Ayron Jones and The Way, a three-piece blues rock band. By the Summer of 2012, the young band had been making appearances on local Seattle radio shows, and had opened for the legendary Robert Cray. The band soon grabbed the attention of the local media and more importantly, Seattle Hip-Hop icon and Grammy award-winning rapper, Sir Mix A-Lot. After seeing the band perform live, Mix A-Lot approached the band and offered to produce their album. The group accepted the offer and they immediately began recording.
“So, finding Ayron, the first thing I found myself asking was, ‘Why hasn't anybody recorded this guy and why is it that nobody knows about it in my circles?’ Because that is easily the best talent in Seattle right now.”- Sir Mix-a-Lot to The Seattle P.I.
In 2013, Jones and bass player DeAndre Enrico, brought drummer Kai Van De Pitte out of Portland, Oregon into the mix. Van De Pitte brought a metal background with him as a drummer, giving the band that nasty edge they had been looking for. The band would be invited to perform at premier music festivals such as, Bumbershoot, Mt. Baker Rhythm and Blues Festival and Summer Meltdown resulting in tremendous buzz and momentum leading up to the Fall release of their debut album, 'Dream'. Though the release was met with rave reviews from Seattle media, it was the sold-out album release show on November 2, 2013 (with Sir Mix-a-Lot and Tomeka Williams opening) where Jones made the biggest statement with a performance the Seattle Times says, "...Elevated himself into the conversation on Seattle rock royalty..."
In March of 2014, the band opened for the legendary B.B. King at a sold out show at the famed Moore Theatre in Seattle. They also performed on NPR's Livewire! radio show in April and just wrapped up a West Coast tour that included seven states, including spots opening for Living Colour, The Presidents of The United States of America, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Train. Ayron Jones and The Way are now back in the studio recording new material with Barrett Martin (Mad Season/Screaming Trees) as producer, with Jack Endino (Nirvana) mixing. Lots of touring and festivals will round out 2015. The band had a successful tour of SXSW in March as well as other festivals already this year.
Aside from being a nasty drummer, Kai has many unique talents, including being an artist. He's been doing artwork and tattoos for years, and he just opened a store featuring some of his paint-based artwork. You can order paintings, mugs, tote bags, shower curtains, etc. He'll be adding more pieces soon, but check out what he has so far as his prices are very affordable here
Next week, local company Playlist Seattle will perform a play based on the music of Nirvana and Ayron Jones and The Way. This is quite an honor for us and we hope you'll come check this out. Ayron will perform solo after the show. Get tickets here
We are very proud to announce we'll be playing the Sasquatch! Music Festival this year! Also, catch us in March out in Boise, ID at the Treefort Music Festival.

Hello, so if you’ve gotten this email, it’s because you are a local Seattle musician (or someone in that industry) that we respect. We, as in Ayron Jones and the Way. Not sure if any of you follow our posts at all, but recently we’ve begun using #seattlemovement as a hashtag with a lot of our posts.
What does this mean? Well, in the past few years, musicians like Macklemore, Allen Stone, Fleet Foxes, Head and the Heart and countless others have really put Seattle back on the map, on a national level, which is truly commendable. The great thing for us is that has put a lot of eyes on Seattle. So for all of us bands that are coming up behind them, we all have an opportunity to help carry the torch. AJATW is doing pretty good right now and there are many, many artists locally starting to break nationally, regionally and locally. To us, that is a Seattle movement.
Why should you care about that hashtag? We want to share it and spread the hell out of that hashtag and spread the hell out of your band. Our vision is for that hashtag to blow up if every band locally is using it after nearly every post. We all support each other. We become a family. Our fans find out about your band, and vice versa with hundreds of bands in the city. That hashtag isn’t well known as an AJATW thing. You won’t look like a copy cat or anything for using it. If people start seeing that hashtag daily, they’re going to start wondering what it means and investigate on it.
What do you have to do? That’s easy. Just put #seattlemovement after your Twitter posts. And what about the idea of making shirts, stickers, etc. with that hashtag? We’re thinking we’ll simply print shirts that say #seattlemovement at the top and #ayronjonesandtheway at the bottom. Your band can put #seattlemovement and whatever else you want. Whatever design, style, wording, etc. It’s your band. We all just share the hashtag.
We’re not looking to trademark the term, start a website or make money off of it. That would make it too difficult, controversial, and more headaches than it’s worth. We’re just looking to build community and help build each band up together. Figure it would be a good place to communicate together, discover new bands together, etc.
So what do you think? You in? Obviously, we don’t have the email address to every band/musician in Seattle, so please share this with every musician you know.
Respectfully,
Ayron Jones and the Way
Calling all fans! To the best of our knowledge, our music has NEVER been played on KEXP before. This week they approved our new album ‘Dream’ for airplay approval. However they won’t spin it unless YOU REQUEST IT!!
Call them at DJ Line: 206-903-KEXP(5397) or email them through this link. Request “Feedin’ From the Devil’s Hands” or whatever your favorite song is (they have foul-language friendly versions so request any song on the album you want). Call them multiple times today, this week, month, etc. until you hear the song you want! It doesn’t matter if you live in Seattle or Portugal….request that sh*t!
But please remember to actually listen to the station as they really are kick-ass. 90.3FM in Seattle and you can stream them at http://kexp.org/.
Thanks fans and we love ya,
AJATW

There is a lot of buzz going around about the BIG BATTLE going down June 29th at The Crocodile. People like Spike O'Neill from The Bob Rivers Show defended Davin and talked smack along side him in this video: http://youtu.be/wJ2DkXTv8fg. However Sir Mix-a-Lot, Phoenix Jones and more came to the rescue to defend Ayron in this clip: http://youtu.be/JCwiVgQR92E. This will be your last chance to see AJ&TW indoors around Seattle until at least the Fall, maybe the rest of the year. DON'T MISS THIS SHOW!!!!
