Billy Wayne Arrington is the founder and president of Vision
Productions, Inc., Billy Wayne Ministries. He is an ordained minister,
contemporary Christian vocal artist, Speaker, Writer, and
Director/Producer/ Actor. Located in Kingsport, TN, this non-profit ministry includes LampLight Theatre and The Emporium.
For more than 25 years, Billy has traveled across the United States and Mexico to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music and ministry. Completing more than 300 appearances per year, Billy Wayne continues to challenge and minister to all ages with his high-energy performances and gripping testimony.
Coming from an abusive childhood and broken home, Billy Wayne relates to troubled youth in a way that most cannot. His testimony of brokenness and healing has gifted him with the ability to reach audiences of all ages, knocking down the walls of pretense and getting to the heart of the matter. Billy holds nothing back as he speaks out of gut-level honesty and often, “in-your-face” truth about abstinence, drugs, sexuality, violence, and other related topics, which will have a lasting impact on all who attend. Through God’s Word, music, and testimony, Billy Wayne delivers a powerful message of hope to reveal God’s love and mercy as the answer, no matter what the circumstance.
Set apart from most, Billy Wayne is an accomplished speaker as well as a Christian vocal artist. He is on a mission to reach the lost for Christ and connects with even the “hardest of hearts” through Speaking, Music, and the Arts. An accomplished singer/songwriter, he has produced over 20 music recording projects, various music videos, and live performances in concert. Known in the Christian music industry, Billy Wayne was also awarded regional finalist for the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Songwriter of the Year in 2000 and 2002. His book, “And God Was Watching”, received a 5-star Clarion review (The highest critic award) in 2011.
Prior to full-time ministry, Billy Wayne worked in professional theatre for several years as an actor and director. Throughout his career, he directed more than 200 productions, many of which were his original written works that have all been produced and performed. Between concert tours, Billy Wayne produces full-length theatrical productions and special events at LampLight Theatre.
Today, Billy Wayne continues to move and inspire people of all ages through this multi-faceted ministry. Through concerts, theatrical productions, conferences, and missions, Billy Wayne is fulfilling God’s great commission to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
After knowing Billy for a few years now.... I can say that his desire is to be faithful to God in all things, big and small. His passion for soul winning is contagious and his heart for people is bigger than life! You will be more than blessed by having Billy come minister to your community.

Ministry? Yes! That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I met Billy. He has a vision for ministry and a heart to achieve the highest standard in Christian living. Once you get past that, you can hear a distinctive excitement and vocal talent that is expressed through song. All this is rolled into one guy trying to make a difference in our much-needed youth culture today. Not only is he trying to reach the church; he has so many opportunities to meet the needs of the lost. It has been a long time since I have come across someone with so much heart and vision to reach our youth. If I had to compare Billy with anyone with that much drive it would be Al Denson. Working with Al for six years I see a lot of the same desire and strength of character in Billy as he ministers to kids by the thousands or one on one.

When Billy stands to do ministry Jesus comes shining through. He is uniquely gifted at speaking both to the lost and believers alike. I have known Billy for over twenty years and have seen him minister hundreds of times. I have always been blessed and challenged. When Billy has finished ministering to our church our hearts echo Paul's words: Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints. I have witnessed God using Billy, his testimony, and his gifts of singing, songwriting, drama, and teaching to continually reach to the hearts of all ages, in a very effective and uplifting way, in order to build the Kingdom. His ministry is grounded in prayer, devotion, and commitment to serving Jesus Christ. Billy is a man of integrity with a passion for sharing the gift of salvation with a servant’s heart. I promise you will be touched, energized and blessed through Billy’s events, concerts, and/or drama’s.

I have been officially asked to be a part of Teen Revolution 2017 as a conference speaker. It is a great organization with a passion for youth. They will host three large conferences in 2017. Pigeon Forge, Hot Springs, and Las Vegas. I spent 3 days with them in Hot Springs, Arkansas getting to know their heart and vision. As a result, we will be hosting a Teen Revolution pre-rally for the conferences at LampLight Theatre in Kingsport on February 24, 2017. God is doing great things. Please pray for God's direction.
We are more than excited to announce that the Emporium addition is very close to being finished! As we expand our work space: wardrobe department, set department, props department and office space, we look forward to what God is doing! This building will allow us to expand our gift shop and lobby area. We will also be able to offer dinner theatre by adding a 200 seat dining area. Our plans are also to open a museum on the life of Christ. Stay tuned for more updates!
We are so grateful to the Lord for opening this door and always providing for every need we have! We have been working on the new space for some time and would welcome as much help as we could get to move in quickly! We covet your prayers and support through this time. We will be having a fundraiser event to generate enough funds for renovations and expenses. We are believing this building will help us impact Kingsport for Christ even more than we can imagine!
Praise the Lord! we have 25 students sponsored for camp. We only need 35 more sponsored by Sunday. If you are interested in sponsoring a student for camp the cost is 225.00 per student. Don't let the amount scare you. No amount is too small. We can add your donation with others to sponsor a student. You can drop off a check or call and we can put the amount on your credit or debit card. Call 423-245-1551 if you have any questions.

Dear Friends,
First of all, forgive me for not keeping in touch as much lately. We have been slammed with productions and moving. God is doing some pretty “big” things on Broad Street in downtown Kingsport. I guess it is a sign of a growing ministry. A thriving ministry requires growing pains. Some have not been that pleasant, or convenient. It has pushed all of us spiritually and physically. We have all done our share of pulling, hauling, sweating, and praying. God is at work at something very exciting. I want to take a moment to share.
RECENT HISTORY
If you haven’t heard, after moving downtown, we finally have someone leasing our old property in Fall Branch. They have finally moved in and have actually made their first payment. Praise the Lord! It has helped in taking a huge financial burden off of us. The new ministry (Revived Ministries) will be hosting a half-way house for women coming out of prison and for others who are struggling in other areas. They have also started a new church. It is meeting on Saturday nights to reach out to “unchurched” people. Please be in prayer for Rev. Phillip Canter and family as they undertake this new endeavor.
Their goal is to lease our Fall Branch property for one year and then purchase. They have mentioned wanting to purchase it before then if the funds become available. As a result, we had to move everything from the theatre and the house. It is amazing at how much junk we collected without knowing it. It was truly a purging process.
Because of the quick move, our props had no home for a few days. We had to store them in horse trailers in Greenville (1 hour away). Thank God for the quick fix. We are currently working on space above the actors’ dressing rooms for storage. It isn’t quite large enough to house all of our props. We are hoping to make more storage available as we finish an old mechanical room upstairs as well. It seems as though there is constant construction. Again, this is a good problem and a sign of growth.
All set pieces and extra furniture have been stored in the lower part of the shop (garage) at the Fall Branch location. It is a miracle it all fit. With a recent generous donation of costumes and props from a large church in Kingsport, we are now maxed out on costume storage there as well. That department has been purged and is now being inventoried and organized by Kandy Danielson. She has been a godsend. Lots of volunteers have worked diligently to get our stuff moved and organized.
Revived Ministries has been generous enough to allow us to use the shop and wardrobe department for storage until May 1st. Easter begins the first of April. This means that we have to have storage for all props and costumes by April as well, since we have to move the bulk of our stuff by then anyway.
Needless to say, we are going to have to find storage soon. Cindy, Mary, and I have searched downtown Kingsport thoroughly. We have talked to owners, leasers, and rental companies…much to no avail.
We have also looked into climate controlled storage facilities. They are extremely expensive, but necessary for costume storage.
NEW MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY
Since we have been downtown, God has opened new doors for ministry. We have been able to reach so many more people and the move has exceeded our expectations. On top of opening the new theatre location, God opened an additional door for us to walk through.
Last November, we were approached by Tom and Sharon Keller to take over their lease at the TK’s Hotdog location on the corner of Market and Broad. They loved what we were doing downtown and wanted to retire. They wanted to transfer their lease to us and carry on their passion to help revitalize downtown Kingsport.
I immediately approached Carl Matherly with the Nutty Java coffee shop across the street to partner with us to create an environment for people to come and feel safe. We wanted a place to gather with friends and fellowship. We wanted to love on people and open the doors to those who need to experience peace and hope. We opened Kings Korner Gifts and Gathering Place.
It has been a blessing to see what God is doing there. God has brought many people there who just need a word of encouragement. While they are being fed physically, we are also able to feed them spiritually. Carl and Susie are awesome people with a great vision for hurting people.
While God gave us this facility, it has not increased any space for theatre storage. I even asked God what He was doing. His response was, “Trust me.” With the Nutty Java there, it has been very little expense on our part, but has given us a greater presence and a new opportunity for ministry.
UNEXPECTED BLESSING
As you know, we have been looking at the property to the left of us for leasing or purchase to increase our space. This is the old Burkett Law Office building. We have made two offers and they have rejected both. We aren’t sure when or if that property will become available.
Last month, after exhausting many options, we were approached by a current operating business downtown. After much prayer, the owners felt that God wanted us to have their property. We have been asked not to mention the name of the business until a purchase agreement has been signed. This will protect their patrons and business. The owners have been extremely supportive of us since we have moved downtown. They believe in everything that we are doing and have sought God’s guidance every step of the way.
The building they are offering has plenty of space for our storage for props and sets. We would also be able to have adequate office space and wardrobe department. Our goal for the property is to also start new, innovative ministries.
CURRENTLY
While we do not want to incur more debt, we do understand that we are going to have to pay out over $2,000 monthly for storage buildings in order to have enough proper storage. We have to have our things moved from the old property by April. Our Board of Directors felt that it would be better stewardship if we went ahead with purchasing something instead of losing money on rental.
If we do this, we need to look at the space not only for ministry, but a way to pour into the existing ministry. Right now, we are renting space for dinner theatre. Half of our staff has no office space (including me). We have no space for meetings, music rehearsals, or counseling. Currently we are meeting in the theatre auditorium and Kings Korner. Neither place has privacy.
However, if were to be able to purchase this building, these issues would be solved. We could also offer dinner theatre on a regular basis. The income from that alone would pay for the new facility. We could also host a “Biblical Passion Museum” and Art Museum that would add additional income. By request, we have been adding daytime shows for homeschoolers and senior bus tours. We could expand ministry opportunities beyond evening shows.
The Board of Directors asked that we meet with our bank to look at our options. We have done that and the bank has asked that we share our vision with our supporters. For this to become a reality, we need your prayers and support. I would love to share the “big picture” and answer any questions that you might have concerning the purchase of this property and the expansion of our ministry on Broad Street.
Thanks for your support especially over the past few months. Your obedience has been expanding this ministry’s boundaries beyond anything I could have imagined. I know that God is up to something great. I don’t want to miss what he is trying to do.
NEXT STEP
We need everyone interested in this endeavor to attend an initial meeting Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 6:00 at LampLight Theatre at 140 Broad Street, Kingsport, TN. This will be a brief informative meeting to share details of the vision on this new property. Please be in prayer and plan on attending this important meeting for the future of LampLight Theatre.
Prayerfully,
Billy Wayne
