Ceytra, is a Chicago native with Nigerian roots. Ceytra is not your average female emcee or songwriter; she uses her Nigerian roots to break boundaries and lead with forcefulness. Ceytra is dedicated on bringing music to its original form with her creative style and RAW lyrics. Ceytra’s approach is her own.
Growing up, Ceytra was inspired by legendary artists such as Gerald Levert, Grover Washington Jr., Anita Baker, Barry White, and many more. Listening to some of the worlds greats, she fell in love with music at first glance.Music became her obsession by the age of 5. Due to her father’s absence in her life, she began writing poetry to cope with the pain. Shortly after, Ceytra began to turn her poetry into lyrics and her lyrics into powerful melodies. Ceytra is definitely cut from a different clothe, something the music industry hasn’t seen in a long time. She raps with a purpose to impact lives in an ingenious way.”
Transforming words into lyrics became easy for Ceytra, from listening to legendaries like Tupac, Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim, Missy Elliot and Queen Latifah; she knew music was her destiny. Because of Ceytra’s musical inspirations and her unique style, she changes her rap techniques based on her disposition, it can range from Hard core, Hip Hop, Punk, Pop and R&B. That’s what makes her approach her own. She has performed in local clubs and schools in the Chicago area and has traveled through-out the states to work with different producers to bring her dreams to fruition.
Ceytra is definitely a triple-threat and is ready to take the world by storm.
