MEET Ashley Hodges, an eclectic being who’s energy and spirit shines through her God-given talents, which most often manifest as artist, speaker and creativity coach, among other phenomenal positions. It’s no surprise that the name Epiphany was bestowed upon Ashley some years ago, given that she has experienced consistent break throughs, both personally and professionally in her life and is on an infinite journey of self-discovery. “I am still a work in progress, but every day I am focusing on my progress!” says Epiphany. “This journey has been long and hard but it has also been meaningful and worthwhile.”
In fact, Epiphany’s unyielding mission and movement is built on the premise, “from struggle to triumph.” And in her many efforts, she encourages her audience, clients and supporters to tap into their inner creativity to overcome challenges, express themselves and evoke their very greatness. Regardless of title, Epiphany strives to carry forth a message of restoration that encourages people to believe in themselves, while identifying their core purposes in life. With a focus on creative expression, Epiphany supports people in reaching their full potential through art and healthy conversations.
While Epiphany extends her services to people of all ages, she is especially driven to impact the next generation of youth and young adults. She aims to give them hope, while teaching them to free themselves from emotional bondage, unhealthy people and environments and other stressors. Epiphany recognizes the power that the youth hold to shape our future and understands how critical it is that they be inspired to follow their dreams and live out their life purposes without limits.
“Because of my experience in understanding emotional struggles and not having the freedom to have healthy conversations, I created my business Epiphany Enterprises, LLC,” says Epiphany candidly. “Through tangible workshops and activities, my company creates an environment where people are free to express themselves, have healthy conversations that help heal emotions, and learn creative skills that help them make a positive impact on their community.” “The ladder is especially important to me, given my personal investments in the youth, community and my church,” the fierce leader adds.
Forever humbled, Epiphany expresses joy in the recognition she has received for doing what is so very important to her, helping people via Epiphany Enterprises’ valuable creativity and arts based programs. To date, for her unwavering services to the community, Epiphany has amassed accolades such as Phenomenal Women of DC (93.9 WKYS) and DMV’S Top 30 under 30 Entrepreneurs (93.9 WKYS) and involvement in an All Female Cypher (WJLA, Good Morning Washington) and Workshop on Gun Violence (Baltimore Sun).
With a resume that reads like a creative and service professional’s dream come true, Epiphany has also found success as an arts department coordinator, avid poet, youth development interventionist, workshop facilitator and creative director, along with other closely aligned roles. Epiphany’s diverse background has afforded her success that some would deem as once-in-a-lifetime. As Epiphany neatly merges her communication skills, production savvy, artistry and creativity in her current position as creative director for the Speak Life Tour, she continues to uphold her core personal and professional values.
Although Epiphany exudes creativity in her every walk, poetry has certainly served as a catalyst for many of her growing list of opportunities, which includes performances at the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Bus Boys and Poets, Speak Life Tour, Metro Performs and 30th Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards, among notable others. Additionally, via poetry, Epiphany has landed appearances on leading television and radio outlets in the Metro Washington, D.C. area such as Good Morning Washington (WJLA News Channel 8), The DMV experience (Fairfax public access), Speak Out Radio (Radio One), Lonnie Hunter Show and more. Lastly, Epiphany’s poems have been featured in numerous publications.
