Free From Gravity is a rock band hailing from Portsmouth. Their unique sound blurs the lines between the melodic sensibilities of bands such as U2 and Coldplay, with the gritty, energetic feel of rockers the likes of Bryan Adams or Bon Jovi, just to mention a few.
Massive guitars, thundering rhythm sections and lush, cascading melodies are the backbone of the music created by the 5 talented members of this group, including vocalist / guitarist Vince Barnes, keyboardist / backing vocalist Urszula Filpowicz, as well as Roger Cooper on lead guitar duties, Phil Estell behind the kit and Andy Stratford on bass.
Free From Gravity embody the dream-like, space-ridden atmosphere the band name implies with their beautiful, direct and catchy songwriting. The band affectionately named their own approach to music as “kick assed chilled out rock”, and indeed their music is soft rock with some attitude in nature, bridging the gaps between modern melodic influences and the huge size of 80s arena rock acts. This is a band to experience, whether the sound is coming from your headphones, or even better from within the settings of a live venue.

"This is simply one of the most compelling soft and melodic rock bands in recent memory. Yes, their sound is highly derivative of earlier, legendary rock music, but it’s brilliant and filled with the same gripping melodies and harmonies, all but lost in today’s artificially produced music. Free From Gravity deftly combines elements of 60s and 70s rock but adds touches of more recent rock for a fresh sound."

"We get a breath of fresh air with Alt/Rockers Free From Gravity‘s influential, innovative, and eclectic sound. Their most recent EP Saints & Sinners is a collective record of well-polished, well-written, and captivating songs for pretty much any Alternative/Rock listener, with a sound that other solidifying elements that make Free From Gravity a band you can easily add to your shelf of favorites thus far." "Free From Gravity’s “Saints and Sinners EP” offers up a powerful, pitch perfect kind of sound. Songs linger in the mind long after they are over. Elements of soft rock, shoegaze, metal, and folk are woven into a welcoming whole. Vince Barnes strong yet emotive voice works wonders, helping to serve as the center of the EP. Of equal importance is the undeniably strong rhythm section courtesy of TJ Jackson on drums and Lewis Trickett on bass. On top of this is the expressive guitar work which punctuates the pieces with dream-like imagery." Beach Sloth Magazine
"Saints and Sinners” EP is a contemporary rock extended play from upcoming artist(s), FreeFromGravity. Hearing this brilliant project of 4 songs opens the minds to scenes of movies that can be used as its background music for a soundtrack" Flyah Magazine

“The newest EP from FreeFromGravity’s “Saints and Sinners” fortifies a heavy-handed dose of instrumentation that will make you wondering where the full album is!
This EP imposes a chill-rhythmic rock sound right off the bat with great harmonic melodies embedded in the guitar patterns and vocals. This EP is not something that you will catch in your mainstream playlist, but is definitely something original that rock has been lacking and NEEDS.
The compositions contain a complex set of characteristics such as intricate guitar solos coupled with boundless chord progressions. “Saints and Sinners” is simply original in a way that utilizes innovative musical techniques infused with progressive rock to create a cohesive, novel sound. The guitar distortion and reverbs are lush and will fill up your headphones without an inch of headroom to spare. The drum patterns on the tracks were very impressive and created exciting dynamics as the songs evolved.
I really liked the analogue warmth of the samples on the tracks and this style reverts back to the days of great sound where saturation from analogue tape and outboard gear were prevalent. The production on the EP was great as well with excellent utilization of panning, delay effects, and reverb. The snaps on the snares and percussion were amazing as well - the breaks hit perfectly with the bass lines.
It takes a lot for artists to put in that kind of commitment to a project but it is definitely apparent with how carefully orchestrated the EP panned out in the final product; even on an engineering aspect. Check out FreeFromGravity’s newest EP in stores now on multiple music platforms (digital and tangible)- if you want to hear renowned pioneering and cognizant music that is pushing this genre in the right direction!”

All I can say about this review is "WOW". Totally amazing
"Not that the look of or aesthetic appeal of a musical project are hugely important, but in some cases; it really does add to the overall artistic value of a release. It can make things that little bit more effective, on the whole, and the artwork for this EP is superb. At first glance it’s the one thing, a simple, familiar image, but it’s the kind of art that really takes on more and more life the longer you look at it.
The music on this project has a similar effect, at first sounding like a classic album, experimental, alternative, rock, indie – whatever words your mind may conjure up after a few moments listening. But the longer you listen, the elements that make it what it is each come forward, and show themselves to be something quite special. Not least of all the lyrics. This EP is a piece of art in it’s entirety, the imagery accompanying the music is simple, yet brilliantly fitting, and even at just four tracks long, this one is a real experience to get to know.".
