Electro Swing at its Finest!
Good Co has flown straight out of the Roaring 20s to bring that growling speakeasy sound but with an added dash of that electronic funk so desperately needed in today's hectic workaday world. The US's first live Electro Swing band, this Seattle band mixes live performance with the sounds of yesterday, for a brand new type of dance party.
So What Is Electro Swing?
Like baseball, mom, and apple pie, Jazz is as American as it can get. The ‘one true American art form’ as scholars often say. But for years jazz has faded from the mainstream, and is now often thought of as an eclectic or intellectual type of music. Of course this was not always the case. When jazz was first invented it was the music of the clubs, it was for dancing, it was for boozing, it was for breaking away from the constraints and formalities of the time. What’s a good speakeasy without some wild jazz music to go along with all that gin?
Electro Swing takes those old sounds that we as a nation are so familiar with, the sounds that are embedded in our identity as Americans, and brings them into the 21st century. It’s old Depression meets new as swinging samples are mixed with electronic beats. It’s a style that has become very popular in Europe with several tunes making it to the top of the pop charts. You can hear Electro Swing in advertisements and there are dozens of clubs dedicated to the genre throughout Europe, Canada, the US, and Mexico.
