Far far away, in a bar, in a coastal city much like Charleston, and with the help of a few PBRs, the idea of assembling a band materialized from the ether. It was there that the founding fathers Joe Fusco (guitar, vocals, bad life choices) and John Brooker (guitar, vocals, ponytail) decided to combine their musical prowess and forge GREAT YANKEE.
They closed themselves off in a small room, bouncing their talents off eachother. As they hashed out a couple of tunes, they both felt deep yearning in their souls.
Something was missing.
It struck them - they had not yet implored the gods of rhythm! Quickly they acquired Thomas Fusco (master of all things stringed and keyed, resident funky jam space bass player) and last but certainly not least the very backbeatbone of the group: Stuart Gilreath (percussionist, smash master, boom Dr, professional lady killer).
Together with their skills combined they created the greatest undefined rock group of our generation. They will melt your face off in the most gentle way.
New videos have emerged from the 1-16-15 performance at King Dusko in Charleston. Special thanks to David Fusco for filming.
Czeck 'em out!
Great Yankee performed at King Dusko on Friday, January 17th alongside The High Divers and James Frolio. A fun show with a fun crowd! Thanks to all who attended.
Our beloved bassplayer has been recovering from a serious injury to his playing finger which kept him out for the past couple of months. He has made a quick recovery and will be out with us playing shows very soon.
