When two musical worlds collide, something special happens.
Meet Jai Baker.
At the early age of 7, Jai began performing with his family’s Indiana based band; playing just about anywhere they could find a stage. Over the period of the next 8 years they played hundreds of Moose and Elk Lodges, local and county fairs, all around the Mid-West. This experience proved to be invaluable in the development of Jai’s musicality. Playing everything from Waylon Jennings to Fleetwood Mac, George Straight to the Beatles and Travis Tritt to Matchbox 20. Variety of songs meant happy customers at the end of the night, and hopefully a happy tip jar as well. As Jai grew into his High School years he began playing in Alternative Rock bands performing original music at various festivals and venues, continuing to hone and refine his musical sound. When you hear Jai sing today, all of these influences have created a beautiful amalgamation of color that is uniquely Jai Baker.
Currently, Jai has focused all of these experiences into the genre of Country music and in the process has realized it’s not always an easy road. Persevering through tough personal family struggles and keeping priorities in check is never easily accomplished. Climbing over the steep mountains of life and maintaining a musical path simultaneously proves to be an ominous endeavor. Through Jai’s perseverance, some momentum has started to occur. He recently pushed far into The Voice and American Idol television programs nearly making the finals in both. He has recently opened or shared the stage with Luke Bryan, Justin Moore, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson and Phil Vassar to name a few. He also has the honor of being sponsored by the global giant Jägermeister, which has proved to be an amazing alliance.
Recently, Jai signed his first record deal with an Indiana based record label named Indy Blue Entertainment. This record label is based on the Butler University Campus in Indianapolis, IN. His first release will be early 2015 and will be available at multiple outlets including all of the major digital ones.
When you take some Country and smash it into some Alternative Rock you find the new world of Jai Baker.
