No one could figure out my style. I am pieces of a puzzle which consist of my lyrics, style and me as a whole. When you place them all together, they work to create Jigsawe. Im controversial, but I have to do what is in my heart. I have a gift and a sound, which I want the world to hear.
I don’t want to die with a broken heart, because I did not fulfill my dream.
My Block is about everyday life, the things we see or don’t want to speak about, once you walk out of our front door.
On your block, you may have the drug dealers, prostitutes, the homeless man eating out of the trash or see police brutality.
Jigsawe is a rising contemporary artist from the Midwest. Jigsawe was born and raised in the Northwest section of St. Louis, Missouri. Born into a large family Jigsawe had the opportunity to be exposed to many different views on life yet learned to keep a firm grip on his beliefs. After high school jigsawe joined the Marines and served his country in two deployments in Iraq and Somalia, earning himself an honorable discharge. It was during his tours he fostered a genuine love and connection to the art of musical expression. He used his experiences and influences from pioneers such as KRS-ONE, Public Enemy, and Tupac to help him perfect his craft as a rapper.
After leaving the service, Jigsawe decided to take his music seriously and began a career as a politically conscious rapper. However, wanting to add more to his music than just politics, he quickly realized possible limitations within that category. Jigsawe uses inspiration from day to day contact with people, his surroundings, and the every day struggle witness by many across the globe. He also uses his relationship with God to help with a better understanding of what he experiences daily. It was this awareness that allowed him to then revamp his message into one of a Christian rapper. His music holds a message of “Only God can judge you, Only God truly knows you”. Jigsawe released his first single called “One God” in 2010 off his debut album Down With The King.
During his transition as rapper, Jigsawe has opened for Nelly, Ja-Rule, Fred Hammond, BB Jay and Lacrea Christian Rapper. He has also worked with the likes of rappers from downSouth and the West coast. In the midst of it all, Jigsawe released his second single in 2015 called “My Block” and it was an instant crowd pleaser. This helped Jigsawe recognize the impact his music has noticing the crowds’ reaction to his secularly infused Christian music.
Jigsawe’s style of music is Club mixed with real life scenarios. His music is for those who understand the balance between everyday life and finding meaning within it. For those who understand that God recognizes certain situations calls for certain responses; that we all fall short and there is no such thing as a perfect Christian.
Currently, Jigsawe is working on his next album entitled Keep It Playa with his latest mixtape The Eight, along with his other singles and releases, can be found in rotation on various media outlets.

How did you get the name Jigsawe?
Jigsawe: No one could figure out my style. I am pieces of a puzzle which consist of my lyrics, style and me as a whole. When you place them all together, they work to create Jigsawe.
Why the transition from gospel/conscious music into the secular world?
Jigsawe: The lack of support for gospel artists, is one (1) of the reasons as to why I made the change. The change may be seen as controversial, but I had to do what is in my heart. I have a gift and a sound, which I want the world to hear.
I don’t want to die with a broken heart, because I did not fulfill my dream.
What is the concept behind “Bring it Back?”
Jigsawe: Bring it Back is definitely for the club. It’s about a beautiful woman walking with a drink in her hand, shaking her thang and she begins to walk off and I simply tell her to Bring It Back.
Tell us about, “My Block.”
Jigsawe: My Block is about everyday life, the things we see or don’t want to speak about, once you walk out of our front door.
On your block, you may have the drug dealers, prostitutes, the homeless man eating out of the trash or see police brutality.
Are those two (2) singles off a mixtape or album?
Jigsawe: The songs are off my mixtape project, “The Eight.” The singles will also be featured on my album Keep It Playa, which is schedule to be released in June. Keep It Playa will be a sixteen (16) track album.
Do you have any tour dates lined up?
Jigsawe: There are no tours lined up. However, I will continue to do concerts. My supporters can catch me at South by Southwest (SXSW), in March. All event updates can be found on my website www.jigsawe.com or provided by music legend George Lopez. Email: info@georgelopezonline.com Phone: (972) 748-9404
