With over 15 years in the business, Chicago native DJ Joe Kollege is known for being more than someone that spins records or ‘gets the party started’. On deck, he becomes the voice of the people; someone that ignites souls and paves the road to a listener’s fondest memories with unmatched selections of soul, house and hip-hop.
While attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Joe Kollege established himself, not only as a solid DJ with a loyal following, but as a production manager, assistant music director and on-air personality. In addition, he also added sound technician, event promoter and Director of Promotions for the World Entertainment Group/Nitelife Group to his growing resume. Upon Joe Kollege’s return to Chicago, he began spinning for some of the hottest promoters on the club scene, including Phil and Nate Productions and New Birth Marketing and Promotions.
Joe Kollege has played for such media giants as Essence and Uptown Magazines, global brands such as Grey Goose Vodka (Rising Icons) and Crown Royal, and opened for artists such as The Roots, Roy Ayers, PJ Morton, Al B. Sure!, Special Ed, KRS ONE, Eric Roberson, Robin Thicke, Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick. In addition, he has shared the turntables with the legendary Grandmaster Flash, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Pete Rock, Biz Markie and D-Nice. Joe Kollege also had the esteemed privilege of djing for former President Bill Clinton at an event in Chicago that also featured Hip Hop artist/actor Common.

We Love Soul is hosting a listening party/meet and greet for R&B/Soul artist Carmen Rodgers and the release of her latest project, STARGAZER.
Carmen Rodgers is one of countless artists who emerged during the 2000s and deserved to be known by more than serious, deep-digging R&B listeners. Born in Mississippi, raised in Texas, and based in Georgia (specifically Atlanta), Rodgers contributed a mellow but stimulating highlight, "Ain't No Time," to Hidden Beach Recordings Presents Hidden Hits, Vol. 1, released in 2003. This was followed by numerous appearances on compilations for other labels, including ones from U.K. outlets Expansion and Dome, as well as featured appearances on recordings by the likes of Darryl Reeves, the Foreign Exchange, and Zo! (and many live performances with the latter two). Rodgers has also issued independent solo albums, including the self-released Free (2004) and The Bitter Suite (2011), as well as Stargazer (2015), the last of which was supported by Purpose Music Group.
