Kazzie’s Bio
When New Jersey MC Kazzie is ripping mics state to state, you can hear the indisputable hunger in his voice and while on stage his presence can be felt by the crowd. It’s undeniable. “One thing about music, you can feel it, if you don’t then it’s not real” says the now 25 year-old lyricist whose buzz worthy single “YEAH Ok” hosted by DJ SELF has his ever-growing fan base eager to hearing new music from his catalog. His latest mixtape “Kazzie and The Wavy Bunch” that released the beginning of Fall 2018 exclusively on Soundcloud, under his independently owned label "SLS Entertainment” (SLS Ent.). “I wanted to step outside the box and do a mixtape with all the dope female artist out there". stating kazzie. It has fetured acts from Ric Nasty, Dreezy, Molly Brazy and more.
Kassan “Kazzie” Sherman was born and raised in Newark, NJ, on 19th Street and South Orange Avenue, just a block from where Garden State rap icon Redman is originally from. Fortunately, Kazzie avoided the gang epidemic that seemed to be the norm for a lot of his peers in the neighborhood and instead found music and rhyming as an outlet at an early age. By the time he was 25, the aspiring rapper traveled up the block to Redman’s old stomping ground to come together to drop a brand new single "Trap House" turning the heads of his ever growing fan base with a dope old school vs new school flow. “They would have us out there battling against dudes older than us; once I started beating adults I knew I had something special.”
When Kazzie was 18-years-old he survived a random act of violence. He was stabbed in the chest by a homeless man, which resulted in his lung collapsing. This random act of violence ignited his passion for Hip Hop and opened his eyes to the endless possibilities of taking his talent to the next plateau. Since going solo and parting ways with Nu World Era to pursue a career as an independent artist, Kazzie has taken center stage opening for Jadakiss, Juelz Santana, Blacc Yungsta, Durk, Future, Fabolous, and Fetty Wap in his home state of New Jersey as well as across the country.
Kazzie will be releasing his debut mixtape in the the fall of 2019 hosted by DJ Alamo from Coalition DJ's. Kazzie is working nonstop to grow and make a name for himself in the "rap industry'. His debut mixtape will displays Kazzie's caliber as an artist and his versitile rhymes. Kazzie's singles “Mad or What" Ft Renni Rucci & "Keep Your Head Up" ft 4orty are currently gaining momentum on streaming platforms. Contrary to this project being a mixtape it will definitely feel “More Like An Album”.

Redman & Kazzie team up for a new song off of "Muddy Waters Too."
Redman is still going hard after over 20 years in the game. The rapper's gearing up to release his forthcoming project, Muddy Waters Too in the near future and he's been dishing out singles off of the project over the past few months. He's yet to announce the project's release date but he did come through with a new single recently. Earlier this week, Redman came through with his single, "Trap House."
Redman links up with Kazzie for his new track, "Trap House." The rapper's latest single follows the release of "Tear It Up" which he released in September. The rapper parallels the trap to his work as an emcee. Redman holds down the track before giving Kazzie a few bars to shine. Keep your eyes peeled for more new music from Redman and look out for Muddy Waters Too.

Kazzie, a Newark, NJ-based rapper who grew up with Redman as a neighbor and mentor, just released his video with up-and-coming Chicago rapper Dreezy for their versatile and charming song, “Going Nowhere.” His new project “Kazzie and the Wavy Bunch” is dropping on 8/24. Watch the new visual below!
HNHH PREMIERE - Kazzie & Molly Brazy join forces for some crisp new visuals.
We're pleased to premiere the latest visuals from Kazzie and Molly Brazy, who recently joined forces to deliver the trap banger "With It." Bringing together the disparate styles of New Jersey and Detroit, "With It" finds both parties floating comfortably over an eerie, up-tempo instrumental.
The 20K directed clip showcases Kazzie plotting and scheming, overseeing a heist from the lavish comforts of his luxury Rolls Royce. For the most part, the narrative remains a subplot, while the bulk of the focus follows Kazzie and Molly navigating their surroundings. With straightforward composition and crisp, vibrant colors, 20K's work pops without being overtly flashy. As far as performances, both parties turn in a spirited rendition of their collaboration, bringing an understated sense of charisma to the fold.
Keep an eye out for Kazzie's upcoming mixtape Kazzie & The Wavy Bunch, which is set to feature appearances from Dreezy, Renni Rucci, Cupcakke and previous collaborator Rico Nasty.

Kazzie's new "Rich Today" remix features Fetty Wap, Snootie Wild, and Montana of 300.
Kazzie, fka Kazzie Pop, has been buzzing for awhile outta Jersey. He had a collab with Waka Flocka back in 2013, and earlier this year, he joined with Jersey's biggest sensation, Fetty Wap on "Rich Today," which has since become his biggest hit. And it's likely to get a lot bigger now, as Kazzie has just dropped a new remix with Montana of 300 and Snootie Wild.
It's a mean lineup of some of the hottest young street rappers around, and each guy possesses his own unique flow, making for an exciting listen the whole way through. The "Rich Today" remix appears on Kazzie's new mixtape, Heat the Streets Up.
What do y'all think of Kazzie? We'd like to see further collabs from any combination of these guys.

Kazzie Pop may have been the focus of a high-stakes bidding war earlier this year due to the buzz emerging from his street bangers "Get It" with DJ Enuff and the Waka Flocka Flame assisted "We Don't F--- With That," but at the end of the day the New Jersey spitta chose the freedom of an indie over a major label machine. After turning down offers from majors like Universal and Sony, the 20-year-old wordsmith decided to go the independent route by inking a deal with E1 Music.
"With E1, I got to see how they moved with Driicky Graham (his New World Era Music Group label mate) and how they treated him, so I felt more comfortable over there," KP told BET.com. "The other labels, I read up on them and looked at other artists' situations and see what they went through, but with E1 I already knew how they work and what to expect."
Kazzie isn't the only rapper who has decided to bypass the majors and stay independent. In addition to his NWEMG label pal Driicky Graham (who scored a gold-selling smash "Snapbacks N Tattoos" last year), KP is hoping to follow in the footsteps of BET Music Matters artist Macklemore (The Heist) and Mac Miller (Blue Slide Park), who've both found groundbreaking commercial success all the while staying independent.
The Brick City rapper is already making the execs at E1 look like smart guys as his music video for the "#WDFWT" single is picking up steam. Look for it on BET's 106 & Park, where it will be today's New Joint of the day. Steadily gearing up for his E1 debut, the rookie rhyme-slinger hopes to hold fans over with a solid mixtape that should arrive just in time for summer, consisting of production from Yung Berg and others.
"The mixtape should be coming out real soon," he revealed. "I'm still doing records. I'm in the studio three times a week. It's going to be a lot of club bangers on there, a lot of records with a great story on there, people are going to be able to feel with or without a deal."

Fabolous adds a verse to DJ Self's "Yeah OK".
We first heard DJ Self's "Yeah OK" way back in November 2013, at which the song had a verse from Kazzie as well as Rick Ross. The subsequent remix replaced Rozay with seasoned Memphis rapper Yo Gotti, but the remixes aren't through with just yet.
Keeping both Gotti and the original Kazzie verse in place, DJ Self has added Fabolous into the equation, with the rapper supplying a surprisingly melodic take, that of course doesn't shy away from punchlines.
No way of telling if this will stand as the final version of the single, or there are more remixes to come.

NEW MUSIC: KAZZIE – “HELP US”
Posted by Ben Sherak on Friday, October 4, 2013
kazzie help usWhile hip-hop as a whole has certainly made strides towards acceptance of (good) music across the emotional spectrum, it’s still a rarity to hear a song as vulnerable as Kazzie‘s “Help Us.” The Newark, New Jersey MC leads us, voice trembling and eyes teary, through the frightful norm of his neglected childhood–his uncle tying off in front of him–into a particularly traumatic moment, where not all of the details are specified but the near-sob with which Kazzie delivers his lines tell as much as we need to know. “Help Us,” with its hook not only lamenting the writer’s own troubled upbringing but that of all the children in his city, marks a moment where the weight of repeated loss, hurt, and witness to destruction become too overwhelming to possibly be comprehended by an earthly mind. At this moment of painful overload, it’s not even fathomable that another person could help, so God is called on instead. Kazzie is, in fact, working alongside some mortal forces to help quell Newark’s ongoing violence. Kazzie, Face Structure, and FP YouthOutcry will be aligning at Newark’s city hall to try to speak to children on how to cope with the gun violence, as well as how the community as a whole can bring their situation to light for the world at large.
Kazzie Pop Talks Working With Waka Flocka Flame
Find out why record labels are after this New Jersey MC.

Some artists spend years trying to find their big break into the rap game, but Kassan "Kazzie Pop" Sherman is looking to make 2013 his breakout year. Already off to an admirable start, the Nu World Era Music Group rapper already has a number of major record labels tugging at his lapels in hopes of acquiring his musical talents. Hooking up with big ticket rapper Waka Flocka Flame for his latest single "We Don’t F--k With That" has helped the New Jersey MC establish a solid buzz south of the Mason Dixie line. Meanwhile, his "Get It" collaboration with Hot 97’s DJ Enuff is helping him generate interest up North. BET.com recently sat down with the 20-year-old wordsmith to see how he’s handling the expectations of being the new kid on the block and working with Flockaveli.
BET.com: What’s the origin of your rap name? It’s very distinctive.
Kazzie Pop: My name is Kassan and all my friends call me Kazzie, but I used to be in a group called The Popular Kids with Driicky Graham. We had a record with Gucci Mane called "We Robbed Gucci" and I was just representing for the movement. That’s where the 'pop' came from. I’m not going to lie, I might drop the 'pop' because it does seem a little childish. I’m rolling with it for now though.
How'd you get Waka Flocka Flame as a feature on your new single “We Don’t F--k With That”?
I got a beat sent to me from this producer named Cloud Nine. It’s a production company actually. But when I heard the beat, I got so excited and started working on the hook and then the verses. Once I went to the studio and recorded it, when it was done you could actually almost hear Waka on the record. That same kind of energy and concept just sounded like it would be perfect for Waka. We made a couple calls and he loved the song. We went down to Atlanta to record and he was in love with it. Basically the record found him.
The song is very energetic and club friendly. What was the atmosphere like in the studio recording with Waka?
As soon as he heard the beat, he started going crazy and shaking his dreads. But when he heard my verse, he was likem "Wow you went off. I’m going in just like that because you went in on this record." Another thing I picked up from that studio session is that sometimes when you write your verses, you don't have to try so hard. I don't have to wreck my brain trying to finish a verse, because Waka was recording his four bars at a time. Like, he would record four bars, go do something else like shoot pool or eat and comeback in 15 minutes and record four more. I learned a quicker way of working.
DJ Enuff’s "Get It," which you're featured on, is gaining in popularity throughout the Tri-State. How did you end up on that song?
When he [DJ Enuff] heard the record "We Don’t F--k With That." He was so excited about me and he told me I was going to be the next big thing. I ended up doing another record called "Get It" and when Enuff heard it, he was like, "Man, I want this to be my new record." In my whole 20 years of growing up here, I’ve never even heard of Enuff having his own record. So when he asked to make "Get It" his official record, I almost jumped to Mars.
When can fans expect a solo mixtape from you?
Honestly, I have plans of putting a mixtape together, but right now I’m focusing on these singles. I’m getting a lot of records done so I’ll put one out eventually.
How close are you to making a decision on what label you’ll sign with?
It’s a couple labels hollering like Universal, E1 and Sony. They’re all interested in what I’m doing, but I’m not sure who I want to go to yet. I want to go to a major, but I don’t want to sit on a long line waiting for my project to drop, so I’m still working. I try and pretend like all of this isn’t going on because I want to keep that hunger in me. Because once you think you’re on, you start to get comfortable and I don’t have time to get comfortable.
In 2009, the 6-foot-6-inch rapper linked up with New Jersey indie imprint Nu World Era Music Group (NWEMG) and formed a movement with emerging star Driicky Graham called, Popular Kids. The group was short lived but birthed the exorbitant radio single, “We Robbed Gucci” featuring Gucci Mane in 2010. Since going solo, Kazzie Pop has taken center stage touring with legendary producer and industry luminary, No ID as a part of his No ID Tour, as well as building a loyal buzz for himself on the national circuit hitting the road with The Party Boyz and Dorrough. He has also torn down stages as the opening act for the likes of Jadakiss, Juelz, Sheek and Jim Jones in his home state of New Jersey, and worked the crowd into a frenzy at numerous “Summer Jams” around the country. Further showcasing his lyricism, Kazzie stepped up his viral visibility by releasing searing freestyles over Lil Wayne’s “Mega Man” and 2 Chainz’s, “No Lie,” on YouTube. Currently crafting his debut mix-tape, LMAO, the towering wonder kid is striving to make more than just a jovial statement. “The concept is, no disrespect to the artist but, [some of their music] makes me laugh,” states Kazzie. “You got to bring your A game.” The upstart MC plans on using his aggressive mic skills to do just that. Spearheaded by the sizzling club single, “Roll Out” which is currently gaining momentum in clubs around the metro area. The mix-tape offering will feature Billboard charting label mate Driicky Graham (“Snapbacks and Tattoos”) and recognized songwriter and producer, Yung Berg. Contrary to the title, it’s no laughing matter. “I’m not an artist that’s going to play with people’s time or money,” says Kazzie. “I’m serious with what I do. People are going to be like, ‘I see why he’s going so hard and why you can hear it in his voice.’ I’m not playing.”
