Dee Majek aka Kejam (pronounced Keyjam) the 'Soul Rockers’, artist development specialist. Dee was responsible for development, launch, marketing, promotion and exposure and licensing of UK and American independent artists to worldwide international markets. Main achievements include Chanel Perry, ‘My Life, Dance and If You Love Me’ (Hed Kandi/Mapp Records) worldwide national, club and dance chart hits licensed to Hed Kandi,Ministry of Sounds. Dee also established the highly successful, blueprint compilation series ‘Six for Spins, Mworldnites and Urban Street Anthems’ promoting quality independent artistes.
After a short hiatus in Central America,Dee, returned to the UK in 2013, re-inspired to his first love of song writing and production. Co-writing and co-producing the track ‘Worth’ on the debut album of UK Soul Survivor award winner, Natasha Watts.
Free of the shackles of developing others; Dee has been able to launch and shape his own solo project, Kejam. As an artist in his own right ,Kejam the artist/brand to those in the know, have been gaining a growing reputation across Europe from taste making jazz funk, Soul, Dance and RNB club and radio DJ’s and magazine reviewers built on strong foundation of excellent song writing and great collective of featured vocalists.
His first single, the blazing keyboard driven, Dystopia has become one of BBC UK regional radio listeners most requested songs of 2013. Follow up singles, Kejam Theme and Hi 5(Taking Me Higher) after 17 weeks are still in the Uk Soul charts and is still being strongly supported worldwide after 21 weeks.
Not to rest on one's laurels, Kejam swiftly returned with his ‘Soul rocking’, 3 track “Triple Treat –Summer Jam” EP released 4th July, featuring all Independent, American vocal cast made to raise the temperature on Independence Day: Chanel Perry (My Life, Lovely Day, and Dance) on the classy soul, crossover ‘This Love is Magic.’ Lisa Taylor Hi 5(Taking me Higher)/Kejam Theme (Lorain) on 2 step delight, ‘My Only Love’ and LaMenga Kafi (Blackstreet, Will Smith, Kenny Latimore, Boys II Men) on the club banger’ Looking Back at Love.’
The reaction and feedback from tastemakers to the new Triple Treat- Summer Jam EP in the promotion and first few weeks of full release has been phenomenal. These include worldwide support from the UK, Europe (Belgium, Estonia, France Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Macedonia, Russia, Spain, Scandinavia and Switzerland) Botswana, Brazil, Canada Japan, Mexico, Australia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa and USA.
