His mother worked as a house keeper for several years, often walking up to 10 miles daily to get to work. At the age of 9, Jax relocated to Grand Prairie, Texas , where he was raised by his mother and older brother named Nathan Jackson. His father left the family when Jax was still young. He attended James Bowie High School (Graduated 2006), and Tarrant Country College before he dropped out his sophomore year to pursue music.
EARLY CAREER AND INFLUENCES
Jax started rapping at the age of 13, after receiving guidance from his brother on the basics of rhyming and word play. Inspired mostly by rappers Big L, Eminem, and Nas, Jax developed a love for telling stories in his lyrics. By age 14, Jax had notebooks filled with rhymes. He bought a head set microphone and began recording and posting his songs on several internet forums and social networking sites including MySpace.com. By age 17, he and childhood friend Erecq started a hip hop/hyphy group called "Tv GanG" in 2006. Jax and Erecq's song "Get Up On Some Skanks" became a local hit at several colleges and high schools.
Radio Recognition and Live Shows
Jax's word play and mediphorical writting style caught the eye of several music managers and producers in Dallas in 2008. Around the time when the music industry was focused on Dallas, based off the success some of the country's biggest club records being birthed there, Jax was recruited to write verses and chorus' from several signed artitst. He performed over 500 live shows between 2008 and 2010, mainly as a "hype man" or back up artist for several local artist. In 2010 his record "Geeking" was the first record from Jax to get radio play. The song was well received but wasn't followed by significant recognition.
In 2014, things musically slowed down tremendusly for Jax. A deep depression ensued fueled by heavy alcohol usage created a loss in desire to continue music. After watching his childhood friend Erecq garner success as a Videographer and Director, Jax was inspired to pick up where he left off. After meeting friend and now Manager Chandler Wheeler, he and Jax decided to create a project to resurrect his career.
