Award winning composer and producer Suzanne Doucet with husband James Bell opened the first new age music store in 1987 in the famous Melsrose district in Los Angeles. They also produced the first international New Age Music Conference, organized the first New Age Music Awards for artists, industry people and the media. They also released many albums on their record label Only New Age Music & Beyond.
Artists such as Paradiso, Chuck Plaisance, the Aum Orchestra, Tajalli, Christian Buehner, Gnomusy, Grundman, Al Gromer Khan, Karl Schaffner, Greg Stewart, Sensitive Heart, Christaal and Suzanne Doucet appeared for the first time in the USA on their record label.
Suzanne and James are also producers of Visual Music and promotional compilations.

The show is moved to January to avoid competing against the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The nominations were announced on December 6, 2013 during a live televised concert on CBS, The Grammy Nominations Concert Live – Countdown to Music's Biggest Night. Nominated for Best New Age Album are Laura Sullivan, Brian Eno, Kitaro, Carlos Nakai and Peter Kater.
