Ricardo Serrano is a descendant from a small town in Mexico called Ojinaga Chihuahua. His parents were born in Ojinaga Chih. Ricardo was originally born in Oddessa Texas. Ricardo Serrano started singing at an early age. Coming from a family of many musicians, Ricardos passion for music was recognized by his father in 1999. That's when his father recorded him, singing cover songs to many songs from his favorite singer Vicente Fernandez. The true test came when he recorded a song his father wanted him to sing called Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella. Ricardo then started performing with local groups singing (norteno) music. But in 2000 that's when singing musica ranchera (mariachi music) was noticed and he knew then that mariachi music was his favorite to sing. He then started performing with a ballet folkloric group in Carlsbad NM. Ricardo would sing while the performers would change costumes. Ricardo has performed in many mariachi conferences. From Los Angeles to New York. He originally performed on the Johnny Canales Show in November 20th. Making one of his dreams come true. Watching the show as a kid and being able to perform on the same stage to Ricardo was absolutely amazing. He had tagged Johnny and Nora Canales on a picture asking to like it because he needed more than 1000 likes to be able to perform on the show. By the end of 4 hours Ricardo had 3500 likes and over 80 shares on Facebook. In 2011 Ricardo entered a singing contest called El Rey del Mariachi. Competing against over 2500 solo artists. Ricardo Serrano made it to the top 85 and was well recognized from Pepe Aguilar.
