Born Jan 24 1988, the last of 5 children in Panama City Florida, Robert E. Stoudamire Jr named after his father who passed shortly after his birth. Upon his family relocation to Richmond VA where at the age of 5 he began to sing in his local church choir." Robert had always sung even as a toddler he would hum while i played music around the house" says his mother Desiree Thomas, "it was then i recognized a certain gift". It wasnt of course until years later that Robert would began penning his original music. Nonetheless he would participate in local talent shows, plays and showcases at his young age.
At the age of 7 the acting bug struck,when Robert was cast in the blockbuster film The First Kid , which he played oppisite Sinbad. Soon after .as with most success, tragedy struck wihen his family was displaced and moved to Fort Walton Beach Florida. Robert continued to sing, joining a new church and school where he continued to showcase his gift.
Throughout highschool Robert stayed busy participating in school plays, secretary of student council as well as the school step team. It wasnt until the age of 22 that Robert began to pen his original music and it wasnt until after his 4 year prison stint that he released any to the public ear.
In 2010 during which time Robert was behind bars after a brawl in which he was charged with agg. assault, that he suffered the lost of his oldest brother Bobby Thomas, to a fatal gun shot to the chest. Robert was inspired during his grief to pen his first single Cries of War which was to be released a year or so after his release during the spring of 2012 shortly after he himself was shot during an attempted robbery.
Upon his release in 2011, Robert emerged changed, mentally matured and experienced. Late that year he began to work on his original music. without letting anyone hear it " its too personal but im not holding it back any longer, i beleive it should be heard, this story..my stroy is one of the most inspiring ..although tragic" Robert adopted the last name Thomas after his beloved brother and later Heights as a metephor.
Since then Robert Thomas Heights has been working hard on his debut EP entitled Delusional, which is slated to be released the summer of 2014. "Its been a long process with many set backs but, ive grown in ways many wish they could lol, its been a learninng experience and ive loved every bit of it."
