Sanity's Edge is a metal-based militia of contemplation and melody, launching a full assault on the US Metal market. The concept of Sanity's Edge is based upon the everyday judgments and decisions we make that separate the average (or normal) and the maniacal. The split second impulses we either fight off or relent to, the thin line we balance on called sanity's edge.
Sanity's Edge has been performing with an unequaled blend of influences in the US metal scene since 2008. Their heavy technical drum beats pound upon the walls of the melodic guitars , making for a rather unique style among metal artists. Combining solid driving rhythms with searing melodic riffs, vicious screams with powerful vocals, creates what has been called a harmonic brutality. The band is quickly gaining recognition as a must see live act! Catch them live and discover what others already know.
After a temporary set back Sanity's Edge is back with a few new members and a reforged drive !! Ready to bring back tha absolute and energetic onslaught that once was .
With their impending album near completion the band has once again begun booking for 2016 with the first announced date being March 12th at the Roxy theatre in Denver Co.
Sanity’s Edge might just be a local band out of Denver, but they’ve already cemented their style. After having listened to their previous album, it’s become easy to identify an “inSane” song from them. Which has happened with “Untied”.
Untied starts with an intense intro with that Sanity vibe. While a bit rushed, they manage to build it up multiple times before the verse comes in; where mainstream rockers build the intro up once and call it good, Sanity’s Edge says, “screw that”, and builds and builds. It’s cool. And it’s metal.
When the lyrics come in, you don’t expect them to be so clean. But they are, and it’s pleasant to be able to sing along with an intense song. And intense lyrics. Nothing stupid here; Sanity’s Edge skips the bullshit of trying to send a message, and realizes musicians are entertainers, so should have entertaining lyrics. If there’s a message, I’ve lost it, but listening to a story is way more enjoyable. I don’t have to think and I can visualize a music video every listen. Win-win.
With a thrash feel, they seem to bring in influences from everywhere. A bit of Metallica for sure, maybe even some Disturbed near the end? Whatever the influences, it’s done in Sanity style, and having local bands with their own style is something not every city gets the luxury of.
Tsong is definitely one that has to be seen live. It’s intense and can spark energy. That’s probably why they’re opening for Season’s After, January 23rd at the Roxy.

“Untied” is a very good song from the band. At first it starts a little slow as the intro rattles out, and when the song really gets going, the vocalist shouting “Go!” at you there’s a real groove behind it (first I presume), with the guitars providing some heavy riffage. It has this solid drum beat, with some nice double kick work as well – all around ‘tightness’, as I would say. For the chorus the band throttle back though they resume the norm very quickly.
For the outro (just before the 4-minute mark) the band switch this very doom-esque beat and riff, extra emphasis placed on the meaty guitar riffs, whilst the refrain of the lyric “I pour out my soul” repeats itself over and over. I actually listened to this about 4 or 5 times as it’s just that damn good.
If there is any more material coming out, you can be sure I’m going to snap it up like thanksgiving turkey.

“Sanity’s Edge has a killer E.P. that’s listenable all the way through (you know how some CDs and E.P.s have fillers? Well, personally, I found none. And if one or two were included, they weren’t found by me, and that’s a good thing). Sanity’s Edge definitely knows that a story must be told by each song, and each song seems to tell a different story. But it’s not just the content of the lyrics that shows maturity, but the musicianship on the instruments, from the drums not overpowering anything, to the bass keeping a tight groove, to the solos that don’t focus on showing off, but rather on adding to the song. And when a song enters its breakdown, it enters hard. Very hard. I love the breakdowns on S.E.E.P. 1. They are some of the best things I’ve ever heard.”

“Sanity’s Edge have got something to say, and they are saying it with a growl. Their new record displays the band’s ability to play a chiseled spectrum of metal- from the uber-hardc ore to the rockin’ melodies, these guys have got it covered. Dino Cuneo lays down that double-bass drum beat, a style that has become a trademark in the metal world, as well as anyone else in Denver, and at the helm of this record he provides a solid backing. The track “Thread” showcases solid lead guitar work and serves, all things considered, to showcase the mellower side of the band and proving that they have a well-rounded sound and that front man Dominick Trichie is a man of many talents on the mic.”
