Servitor reflects the living, resurrected earth springing back through the decay of the failed industrial machine of Detroit. The living, breathing, pulsing drums; are the sound and vibration of the grinding, rhythmic machine of industry.
Servitor combines live percussion with foundations in traditional West African, Afro Cuban, Middle Eastern, Brazilian, and American tribal drums with a heavy, diverse and rich background of grinding industrial programming. Servitor is a screaming, pulsing, thundering, music experience that is a massive departure from the usual approach to rhythms in electronic music.
Live Servitor’s unique setup and approach allows for performances along with a diverse selection of other artists. Servitor has performed live with a myriad of dancers and has played drums for other several other acts in multiple countries. Servitor’s music has been used for fusion/bellydance performance tracks, fire-dance performances and independent commercial advertisements.
Followers- Servitor’s unique sound and heavy emphasis on drums has thundered through the underworld to bring out the most unexpected, but entirely welcome cadre of dancers, artists and misfits. Among the masses of Servitor dendrophants are the raq-ing, shimmy-ing belly dancer, the vintage-teching steampunk, the boot-stomping rivethead, the drum-circling skin pounders, the footloose African dancer, ren faire geeks and SCA enthusiasts. The audience of a Servitor show is always diverse and overflowing with creative, artistic minds. It’s impossible not to fit in.
Another great review this time from Side-Line!!!!

Interview with Servitor!!!! I recently was contacted by a music blog about an interview regarding the nature of Servitor, and some of the background and origins of the music. It is particularly notable that their staff originates in Brazil, and that they commented positively on the Brazilian rhythms on the latest album. A for authenticity!!!
Lots of background info on Servitor's music, and commentary on why the people of a culture are as important as their music.
Check it out, and share it!!!

Hey you guys!!!! Lookit!!!
This is prolly the best review Servitor has gotten so far.
Props to Maresa Whitehead for recognizing the plethora of diverse influences and rhythms from around the planet. These are not just random "tribal" beats, but carefully selected rhythms from thousands of years of Terran drum and dance:) If you were kind of wondering what the hype was about, or whether the new album is worth your time or money, maybe this will bump you toward the rumpus!!

Servitor is ranked at 9 in Richmond on Reverb Nation!!! I know not that many artists use the site but after only being here a month, 9 out of 22 is a punchy start :)

NOW HEAR THIS!!!!! All you rebels and rennies, dancers and dissidents, makers, garden-rakers, beat-breakers and rump-shakers... thumpers and burners, dreamers and worldy turners; THE B00MS OF D00MS are getting back out on the road!!!
Servitor has a few shows lined up for early spring and we are looking to possibly add a few more shows to the schedule. Right now the tour is shaping up for late March to mid April. It's a little bit late in planning, but a few opportunities came up, and there have been a lot of demands for the rowdy rumpus to come back to their town. In addition to these shows, I will also be scheduling drumming workshops along the tour so interested parties can learn a few traditional rhythms and be part of a wild, high energy drum jam.
As of right now, the tour will be Mid-Atlantic to the near Midwest. So holler at your promoter friends and people who make things happen and let them know you want to get wild to Servitor's wild and frenetic drum assault!! Keep in mind that burner events, belly dance events and steampunk gatherings would also be ideal, so long as they have an adequate sound system. Contact me here, or at servitorsanctum7@yahoo dot com.

Tell your friends and famblies, The Rumpus is about to get rowdy!!!!
HOT DAMN!!! These CD's are selling like hotcakes!!!! I'm still caught a little off guard when the unlikeliest of people will buy a CD because
A: The artwork is amazing
B: The drums are fast and furious.
Sunday morning at the festival, a 60-somethings woman came up to me and said,"I've been looking for you so I can wring your neck. I love your CD, but I don't love it pounding through the speakers at 5:30 am when my husband wants me to wake up and make coffee!".
Thanks for everyone's support so far. I'll be mailing out Indiegogo contributions today, and posting some more songs. Find the ones you like the most and share!!!!

The 3rd Servitor album The Forest Crept Back Into The City... Is almost done with the recording stage!!! It took a little longer than expected with a 3 week hiatus in Texas and some obstacles with getting all of the right gear together. It's clocking in just under the 80 minute limit with 16 tracks. All drum and dance with lots of electronic grindy noise! We even remembered to do one slow song so you can rest a bit. Branches up, roots down, the forest is creeping...

"If you follow my articles for COMA, you know I prefer something unique in my Industrial music, such as the crossover of one genre into another. Tribal Industrial is one of my favorite crossovers. The dichotomy between electronics and native acoustic instrumentations creates a powerful, organic aural experience that never fails to transport my mind from my body. In 2013, I had the pleasure of discovering my newest favorite Tribal Industrial artist, Servitor. I had actually seen Sean play as part of iVardensphere in the summertime, but it wasn’t until he toured with Ego Likeness as Servitor that I was able to fully appreciate Servitor’s aesthetic. Watching Sean, complete with feathers in his hair, pound out almost humanly impossible rhythms on his myriad of percussion instruments was a pleasure. The Industrial backing tracks and primal vocalizations coupled with his drumming create an unforgettable soundscape in the mind’s eye and the body’s vibrations. If you’re searching for that artist that takes you away and generates something carnal yet spiritual within your soul such as I was, know that Servitor is the answer."
Servitor just returned from a VERY succesful 2013 US tour of 21 cities. The response was overwhelming and Servitor gained a lot of new friends and fans who are eager to have Servitor return to their respective towns. We are looking forward to bringing the boom rumpus to all of you!
Servitor has already started work on the third album and the drums are full of rhythms from at least a dozen countries and will be bigger, more energetic and powerful than the first two. Keep checking in for news of the third release titled "The Forest Crept Back Into The City"
Listen up gang, this might be the last Servitor show in Detroit for some time, so make an effort to dress up for the apocalypse, jumpus in the rumpus and and get some new Servitor CD's. You could not have a better soundtrack for a Mad Max cosplay event. See you all soon!!!
Share the post with your friends and make sure they know, it's an event not to be missed!!
