Mike Nash and Southern Drawl Band from Knoxville and Nashville Tennessee is "Southern Rockin' Country music with a twist of lime distilled in the backwoods of Tennessee."
Mike Nash has been touring the U.S. from coast to coast since the band's humble beginnings in 2012."Tirelessly building our grass roots fan base from the ground up is the key to our success" says Mike, frontman and guitarist for the band. "We have been honored to have won several awards for Band of the Year as well as Entertainer of the Year beacuse of the support of our incredible fans who will regularly drive hundreds of miles for our shows and who have spread our message like wild fire".
During their rise, Mike Nash and his band has graced the stages of many of the world's most popular artists. From legends such as Lynyrd Skynrd, Charlie Daniels Band and Jimmy Buffett (in Key West)- to classic country artists like Aaron Tippin, Neil McMcoy, and Pure Prarie League-and including modern day stars such as Brantley Gilbert, Blackberry Smoke, Eli Young Band and Justin Moore. Other notables include David Allen Coe, Eddie Money, Rory Feek and The Romantics.
One of Mike Nash's most exciting achievements came in 2012 when the University of Tennessee debuted the video for the Mike's rocked up, barn burning version of "Rockytop" on the jumbo-tron at Neyland Stadium to a sold out crowd of over 102,000. The song went on to smash radio charts and is one of the most popular versions in America being played on NBC's Sunday Night Football for millions of viewers in celebration of Peyton Manning's record breaking touchdown pass in October of 2014.
Working with Grammy nominated and Dove Award winning producer Travis Wyrick on their first three studio albums and proven hit writer's such as Thom Shepherd ("Redneck Yacht Club"-Craig Morgan, "Riding with Private Malone"-David Ball) Aaron Scherz ("The Rock"-Tracy Lawrence, "Girl in a Country Song"-Maddie & Tae) and Chris Robbins ("Ride"-Martina McBride) as well as musicians like Andy Wood (Rascal Flatts), Rob Hajacos (Garth Brooks), Thomas Jenkins (Sammy Kershaw) and Doyle Grisham (Jimmy Buffett), the band has won several awards for Album of the Year and Song of the Year as well as several nominations for a variety of awards including placing #50 on Country's Top 100 of the Year.
Mike Nash's music has been used in television programs on stations such as GAC (Great American Country) and CMT (Country Music Television) and is one of the featured performers in the 2016 Mailboat Records release of "Parrotheads the Movie" as well as the soundtrack available on Amazon Prime and Netflix. Mike also makes several appearances in the very first Trop Rock inspired feature film "Chasing The Sun" available on Amazon Prime.
Mike Nash and Southern Drawl Band's music can be heard on major radio stations all around the country thanks to regular rotation on the Nationally syndicated radio program OutlawNation.com as well as on Sirius XM's Radio Margaritaville & The Highway. They can also be found on uncountable numbers of Internet radio stations around the globe including Music Road Radio.com, Beachfront Radio.com, and iTunes radio. Capping all this off, in 2015 SDB partnered with Norwegian Cruise Lines to host an annual Caribbean cruise each April boasting an attendance of over 500 cruisers and fans.

I've spent the better part of over thirty years in the music business in one form or another - writing about it for newspapers and magazines, producing it, promoting it, playing it on the radio. The most exciting to me throughout my career has been getting to hear music from "new" bands - especially local and unsigned ones. It's not always stellar, but I have always appreciated the hard work and dedication that went in to getting that far in the process of making a career. On the other hand, sometimes you throw an album on (yes, I'm old enough to still call them "albums") and your reaction is "Damn! These guys are GOOD!" That was my reaction to Southern Drawl Band's latest, "Elixir". Trop Rock fans will know them from songs like "Another Day In Paradise" and "More Time Drinkin' Beer" (co-written by Thom Shepherd). But, while these guys may have some sand in their cowboy boots, SDB is a full-on COUNTRY band. And "Elixir" as another 12 tracks of top notch pickin' and grinnin' made for beer drinkin' and front porch sittin' - from the S*** kicking "Damn Sure Comin' From Dixie" and "Mississippi Kid", to the swampy "Tattoo", and lovely "She's My Angel". Personal favorite tracks include "Ghosts of New Orleans" and the breezy harmonies on "Somewhere Down The Road". Trop Rock fans won't be disappointed either; "Island Time" features steel drum heart-throb John Patti and sounds like it could have slipped off a Zac Brown album. And, of course, any band from Tennessee worth their salt has their own version of "Rocky Top", included here, rocked up SDB style.
Full disclosure: I've known about and been a fan of the Southern Drawl Band since they first appeared on the scene. Passed copies of their first album, "Against The Grain", out to anyone I thought might be interested at the Atlanta country radio station where I worked at the time. And I'll keep passing their cds around until some smart record exec hears what I hear. I have a feeling it won't be long.
