Terrell Hunt is a Christian recording artist who is no novice to the music industry. Growing up in a family full of professional singers and musicians, he was exposed to all genres of music and rapidly gained a deepened love for them all. His involvement in music began at an early age, having begun performing at the age of 7, touring at the age of 10 and recording at the age of 12, he quickly realized his passion for this work and embraced it as his life’s purpose and call.
With roots in jazz, choral anthems, classical, traditional/contemporary gospel music and known for his energetic and liberating performances, the DC/Metropolitan native now residing in Nashville, TN, possesses the ability to effortlessly transcend style or genre. Terrell’s “gospel-meets-soul” vocal style strikes a resonating chord that connects with his listeners worldwide. Touring most of the US as well as France, Italy, England, Trinidad & Tobago, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, Nigeria and more, he has shared stages and/or worked with some of the industry’s most prominent artists, such as: Anthony Brown, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Vickie Winans, Kirk Franklin, Lalah Hathaway, Yolanda Adams, Dorinda Clark Cole, Karen Clark Sheard, Tye Tribbet, Esperanza Spalding, Kem, to name a few.
Hunt’s current endeavors will establish his career not only as an artist, but as an entrepreneur and industry leader. Creatively, the singer/songwriter is finishing production on his anticipated, upcoming album, ‘Flowing River’, while simultaneously beginning production on a follow-up album entitled, ‘33’, in collaboration with Hutton Records in Nashville, TN. Listeners, new and old alike will appreciate the crisp vocals and lush production of ‘Flowing River’, but can also gain a fresh perspective of the human experience through the eyes of a worshipper on ‘33’. The new project promises to explore a new sound for Terrell that fuses Gospel with Urban CCM to create what he calls “Worship Soul.”
Obviously no stranger to hard work, the entrepreneur is chartering the Nashville chapter of ‘Generation Alive!’ a non-profit organization he owns. The organization focuses on youth with learning differences that are gifted and talented in the performing arts. Terrell has also started an artist development and coaching firm called the BillyAllison Music Group all while serving as the Director of the Worship Arts Ministry at his home church, Riverside Chapel in Nashville, TN.
No matter the vehicle or platform, whether its gospel, jazz, classical or soul - from songs and performances, to personal interactions with peers and fans alike, Terrell remains true to his mission – to carry the legacy of Christ and to extend the ”God moment” to all with whom he comes in contact. He seeks to make God attractive to the world and to this end he infuses his vibrant, energetic, personable personality into all spectrums of life, ministry and career. Terrell, recognizing God, solely, as His source and lifeline, and realizes that nothing in this life matters if you don’t have a relationship with God. This is reflected in one of his most insightful lyrics: "I have tried to make the perfect plan for my life, it took some time, but I realize that I can do nothing without You!" With this refrain, he hopes to take you on a spiritual journey that leads to a destination where this same declaration becomes your personal testimony!
