Callies has enjoyed regional success in his solo career, has released multiple records, and March 26th is Brandon Callies Day in the band’s hometown of Austin, Texas. In 2016, Callies brought in Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Ryan Holley, Drummer Joe Devadanam, and Bassist/vocalist Don Denham to round out his band who are all veterans of the Austin Music Scene who have backed up prominent artists in the region.
It was from there that the band decided to be called Brandon Callies & The American Revival, and the band hit the road. After their touring season, the band decided that they would forge on as The American Revival and have released their first two singles, “On My Way” and “whiskey kisses.” The American Revival will be releasing more new music in 2019 off their new record “The Saint and The Sinner” and will be hitting the road in support.
The band believes in its moniker, as they feel their name is more than just branding. The band aims to revive the rock and roll genre by infusing their deep Texas roots, their love of rock and roll, and marrying all parts of American music to create anthemic, vocal rock and roll.
"This is intelligent country music for a new generation of enthusiasts, and I for one can’t wait to see what the group spins in our direction next." - Mindy McCall, Indie Pulse Music
"Bittersweet and full of entrancing texture and rigidity, “Whiskey Kisses” feels like the start of something really big for its creators, who have already given us more than a few reasons to be excited for their impending full-length debut." - Michael Rand, Mobangeles
"As much as commercialized pop music may endlessly try, you’d be hard pressed to find a single released on either side of the mainstream this year that is as brooding and authentic as “Whiskey Kisses” is." - Sebastian Cole, Gashouse Radio
"The American Revival might be a new face in the game, but they prove here that they’ve got the chops to dish out memorable musical gems that stand out next to the competition." - Kim Muncie, Neufutur
"This is alternative country music at its finest, not to mention one heck of a way to tease The American Revival’s forthcoming debut album." Gwen Waggoner, Skope Magazine
