Founded in 2012, The Riveters is one of the newest all-female vocal groups to hit the a cappella scene. They placed 3rd in the Bay Area Harmony Sweeps competition in March of 2013 and have performed for two consecutive years at SheSings Women's A Cappella Festival. In September 2013, The Riveters were nominated for an A Cappella Community Award in the category of "Favorite Newcomer Group" and one of their singers/arrangers, Lisa Forkish, was nominated for "Favorite Arranger." They were also nominated for two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. In addition to receiving praise from the a cappella community, U.K. soul artist Laura Mvula shared The Riveters' cover of her song "She" and exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh wow!" The Riveters EP was released in December 2013 and is available for digital download on iTunes and on Loudr.
Coming from various high school, collegiate and pro groups including 'Til Dawn, Vocal Rush Divisi, Noteworthy, Ro Sham Bo and The Backbeats, this fierce fivesome is armed and ready to bring their fresh, soulful sound into the world. Collectively, members of The Riveters have won a CARA Award for "Best Soloist," lead groups to win the ICCA/ICHSA Finals, competed on The Sing-Off, recorded vocals for Karaoke Revolution and Guitar Hero, and co-founded the Women's A Cappella Association. Outside of The Riveters and a cappella, these five vocalists perform in the realms of jazz, soul, progressive rock, folk and R&B, but describe their "Riveters" sound as soulful and dynamic. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"Shaking my head at The Riveters. My mind is blown." - Angelique Bradford (vocalist, The Pow Arrangers)
"Safe to say that The Riveters have some sexy vocals and are making me feel things." - Lo Barreiro (vocalist/arranger, Musae)
"The Riveters are one of the most compelling a cappella groups I have seen in a long time. They have power in all the right places and remind me why I love singing in the first place." - Jo Vinson (vocalist, Musae/Delilah/Overboard)
"The Riveters are my absolute favorite women's a cappella group at the moment! They bring a new fresh & innovative sound to the genre that is unlike any sound I've heard - it's rich, sexy & strong. They've got a unique vocal style delivering close harmonies, gorgeous musical dissonance & compelling solos. These women perform with a sultry confidence that sets them apart from any other group out there right now." - Evynne Hollens (vocalist, Divisi co-founder)
"After a long day of working on music, I turn the few YouTube videos someone posted of the Riveters; audio quality is irrelevant when you have so much vision, talent, and direction. I'm not sure the world is ready for more, but I can't wait!" -- Ted Trembinski (producer/engineer, The Vocal Company)
