Richmond, VA's abrasive Sludge 'n' Roll duo continues their aural assault supporting the full length release, "Synanthrope" and the power-packed Pandemic cover song album, "Dekk Meg..."
Once described as "...an incessant nightmare, like Sleep on ketamine", THUNDERCHIEF has been on the move since 2006, and continues to tour and perform regularly.
Beginning as a 1-man project, THUNDERCHIEF has shapeshifted into one of the hairiest songwriting teams in the game, Rik Surly & Erik Larson. Time and time again, the band has proven to be less concerned with maintaining "genre-specific" status, and more into unleashing the beast from within.
Riff-laden, ear-catching, drum-forward punishment is the goal. That's it. No compromise, no let up.

THUNDERCHIEF is heading South in support of their new CD release “Dekk Meg…”
Richmond, VA’s 2–piece nihilistic Sludge ‘n’ Roll outfit THUNDERCHIEF are heading out due south to support their new CD release, “Dekk Meg…” (ASR Records), slated for Friday, January 6, 2023.
The album is the culmination of 12 cover songs that were digitally released as singles throughout 2021/2022, and have now been re-mastered at New Alliance East in Boston, MA. This collection of deep cuts by Sheer Terror, Joe Walsh, Neanderthal, among others, showcases the band making full use of the pandemic downtime.
“Dekk Meg…” (“Cover Me…”) was created in 3 sessions with 6 powerhouse engineers--Mike Dean, Mark Miley, Jordan Faett, Lance Koehler, Allen Bergendahl, and Nick Zampiello
Tour begins January 9 in Asheville, NC and continues on with heavy support from CrankBait, Hot Ram, Christworm, and a rare appearance from Southern heavyweight titans, Hexxus.

2-piece Crust 'N' Roll outfit, THUNDERCHIEF, are releasing yet ANOTHER cover single behind the digital release of their full length album "Synanthrope".
The date is set for Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 (New Year's Eve)
As promised in October 2021, the band will be releasing 1 cover song per month for 1 year, culminating in an "All-Covers" album in Winter 2022.The band first released a disturbing version of "Vampire State Building" by Rudimentary Peni, followed by Spooky Tooth's take on "Evil Woman".
For our December offering, THUNDERCHIEF is kicking back into Classic Rock mode with a rendition of Joe Walsh's "Turn To Stone".
This heavy-as-all version of Mr. Walsh's classic was recorded by the one and only Mike Dean in Raleigh, NC, Mixed by Mark Miley in Richmond, VA, and Mastered at New Alliance East by Nick Zampiello..
