Vextion is an up and coming female fronted rock band from central NJ. Under the leadership of founder Kate Ortiz, the band is known for it's high energy performances stemming from the passionate writing and vocal styles of it's front-woman. Vextion has opened for and played alongside national acts such as P.O.D, Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf, Badfish, Burn Halo, Bobaflex and Michael Graves of the Misfits. They have also used their musical acumen to play for great causes such as Helping Hands of NJ, Move for Hunger, Soldiers Not Forgotten, a benefit for Turner's Syndrome, and several Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. The band has been featured in several great media outlets including the Aquarian Weekly, 95.9 The Wrat, The Musicians Rock Network (online), William Patterson Campus Television, and the X 88.9 fm. Additionally, the trio has consistently been nominated for top heavy rock act and top female vocalist by the Asbury Park Music Awards since 2013. With an ever growing fanbase, Vextion plans to continue turning heads with their passionate music and live performances, with no plans of stopping there. Check out their 2019 EP, "Vindictive" available now on iTunes and Spotify.

"If you haven’t heard of a band named Vextion, you need to get your head out of the clouds! They are dominating the local market show by show, and have one of the most talented female vocalists I have ever encountered."
- Jersey Rock-Maria MAR, The Aquarian Weekly

"Vextion is probably one of my favorite local bands right now. They are incredibly energetic. I love their stage performance, I love their sound, I think Kate is an amazing front woman and I think they're just all nice people. " - The Legendary Jeff Crespi
"Speaking of pipes, “Temper, Temper” was an open book for Kate to unleash a gritty, gravelly vocal style that would make Joan Jett do a double take. Dinosaur-sized blasts of guitar and drums rumbled under the high-fretted bass antics of Max Orozco. His bio lists one of his capabilities as “swagger,” and he has that in exceptionally large doses. At times overshadowing the opposite side of the stage with nonstop movement, this kid was born to be in a band."
-John Pfeiffer, The Aquarian Weekly
"It can be more difficult for a woman to gain the recognition they deserve, regardless of how hard they work. Fronted by Kate Ortiz, New Jersey band Vextion is defying the odds."
-Bill Facciponte
"Yet, sometimes like a sonic breath of fresh air, a female voice breaks on through to the other side. In the local hard rock and heavy metal scene of the Jersey Shore, Kate Ortiz is the siren who blows the doors off this boys club. Ortiz is the frontwoman for Vextion, a bombastic outfit comprised of young veteran musicians who have cut their teeth along the Jersey Shore."
