From a young age, Watts the Future knew that music would play a major role in his life. Born in raised in Kansas City, Missouri, he was raised in a household saturated with musical influences. His mother had an extensive collection of music, which he was exposed to on a daily. "You could walk into my house and guarantee there would always be some kind of music playing" says Watts the Future about his childhood home. "I feel that being exposed to so many different artists and genres allowed me to realize that it was fine to be myself, because someone out there in the world would be able to relate."
And relate they did, as his entrance into college in 2008 brought along with it a new found passion for music. This led to such releases as the 2009 project "Feed Me Beats: The Appetizer" and 2010 project "Lost In Transit". "I really feel like my first two projects were really me trying to find my way in a solo arena" he states. "I think I really caught my wind after those two and really found my niche." Along with finding this niche came videos for songs such as "Watts the Future (Retro Flow)" and "Misdirection", shows, and the opportunity to meet people from throughout the U.S. who enjoyed his music. "When people from other states told me they really loved what I was doing, I think that sealed it for me. I was a wrap after that!" he laughs. "It just feels different when people who aren't your friends approach you and tell you they love your music, at least then you can tell they're being 100% with you because they only know you FOR the music, so they're guided by their personal musical opinion."
