2win or Darrell Mitchell he was born in Monterey, California October 9, 1982. He is an American rapper. 2win grew up in the streets of Atlanta Georgia, where he got his start as a rapper at the age of 18. Growing up in the California streets and moving to Zone 3 Atlanta at the age of 13, gives him a bi-coastal perspective on music. Rapper 2win is no stranger to music. In 2012, his hit record “Whole Thang” took the city by storm. His methodical style of music gives the average person something they can relate to. 2win’s soulful & innovative style, has been said to “make people want a better life”. Music has been on his mind as long as he can remember. “I can still remember coming home to “Brenda’s got a baby” blasting in the kitchen when I got in from school. My mom was a devoted Tupac Shakur fan, since I was 10 years old the music has been much more than lyrics”. His unique style has always placed him ahead of the curve. Coming from the streets of Atlanta, 2win relates with those who know the struggle, but also know the power of persistence. Influences such as Master P, Bird Man, Dr. Dre & Puff Daddy have all helped to shape his music.

The May 2011 release of the mixtape Pressure had earned him a familiar voice in the streets of Atlanta. Pressure was inspired by watching his family struggle and the familiarity of drug users and prostitutes in his neighborhood, “Hustling was the only way I saw out”. As his name grew in and around the Atlanta area the pieces began to fall into place for 2win. Entering the Citywide Hot 107.9 Battle ground, 2win was crowned Battleground Champ, which earned him more radio play and the notoriety he needed to become one of the hottest new artist in Atlanta. 2win collaborated with local Atlanta producers Tim and Spoaty and dropped the remix to the already buzzing song “Whole Thang” adding Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz to the record. Following the success of the “Whole Thang” remix, in May 2012, 2win collaborated with Music Line Productions to drop the street classic mixtape Imagine. “I worked day and night for 6 months straight because I wanted it to be the best work I had ever put out”. The hit single “She Werkin” featuring August Alsina gained 2win a larger female fan base as he gave props to the women staying on their grind”.

With a strong demand for a follow-up mixtape after the release of Imagine, 2win hooked up with former NBA champion Stephen Jackson aka Stak5 (Secret Society Entertainment) and released the mixtape Power in 2013. “I began to recognize the power of my voice and the influence I had on my community, I also felt the love from the streets and I knew they were hungry”. With the streets backing the ATL trapper turned rapper, 2win is definitely a special artist to follow.
