I am a songwriter, singer and guitarist from NYC. My songs have been used in over 300 instances in TV and commercials.
My music is upbeat, driving, rich in hooks and melodies. My influences range from ‘60s and ‘70s pop, to harder edged indie rock, to American roots traditions.
I currently perform solo shows, duo shows and full band shows in all kinds of venues and settings, mostly between NYC and the Hudson Valley.
As a musician I have played with some groundbreaking original New York bands, including a 5-year stint on guitar in Richard Lloyd’s band (of Television) who also produced my first CD.
I have released three independent CD’s to date: Firepop, Second Kiss and a third collection of songs titled “Bibi Farber”
“Firepop” (1998) was produced by Richard Lloyd (Television). It features his fierce and explosive guitar playing as well as Ira Elliot (drums, Nada Surf) Dennis Diken (drums, The Smithereens) Peter Stuart (bass) Joe McGinty (piano), Jane Scarpontoni (cello)
“Second Kiss” (2004) was produced by John Agnello and features Andy Burton on piano, Peter Stuart on bass, Ira Elliot on drums and I played all the guitars myself.
The third CD (2011) was produced by Steve Bill
To date, songs from these releases have been used in over 300 instances in TV shows, (cable, network and PBS) as well as online (A&E promo for The Sopranos), videos and DVDs (Scrubs: Season Two, “Popular” (Disney) and commercials; including a national spot for Kodak.
I am the daughter of talk show legend Barry Farber, niece of comedian Jerry Farber and the sister of investigative journalist Celia Farber.
I was born in Manhattan, but spent my teenage years in Örebro, Sweden where I played bass in a post punk band called Container Club.
As of 2016 I am playing more shows than ever. Since I play for audiences of all ages, I have expanded my live repertoire to include a lengthy list of pop/ rock hits from all decades as well as standards.
A fourth CD is now in the making!
Come show some LOVE! I'm excited about this event! I am putting together a benefit for the Kingston SPCA, a no kill shelter with no federal funding that is bursting at the seams with cats, dogs, rabbits, everything!
The date is Valentines Day, which falls this year on a Sunday: February 14. And Feb 15 is a national holiday, Presidents Day, so some of you may have the next day off!
6-9 pm Uncle Willy’s Tavern
There will be 3 or 4 musical acts TBA during this period, doing 30- 40 minute sets. I will start and conclude the evening.

Hope to spread some love and help this wonderful organization build the extension they need to accomodate the homeless creatures.
We will be charging a $5 cover charge for the music, which all goes to the shelter. Feel free to bring any supplies to donate if you can as well.
