Destiny “Da Chef” aka Destiny Monet Motley has a lot ambition, determination, and big dreams of startum. As a teenager, Destiny started tapping into her creative side and discovered a love of poetry. She realized through poetry she could express her emotions. Every emotion good or bad she turned into a poem. One day she came across an advertisement for a poetry contest. She entered and won a spot to submit her poem. That was the day that sparked a flame that ignited a burning fire for music. Destiny started writing everyday and got more artistically and emotionally in tune with her surroundings. Perfecting her craft of expressing emotion with music through rhyme for Hip Hop became the definition of Destiny “Da Chef” which is a fusion of her passion for music and of culinary arts. Her first recording was at the age of 15 with successful and local producer, Gerard Thomas who helped her with her very first demo. Shortly thereafter she met HitMissions producer, Lamont “Hit LA” Fleming and performed in a showcase for Jive Records representative, Tina Davis and R & B superstar, Chris Brown. This was Destiny’s first big show during which Chris Brown stood and gave her performance a standing ovation. The showcase fueled Destiny to push even harder and the next month she opened up for Lil Webbie in Tampa, Florida for an audience of over 500 people. She recorded new music with the well-known Desparawdos. Recently, Destiny and local artist, Jicole opened a show for Pleasure P in West Virginia at The Multifest. Destiny is an independent artist setting the record straight about the stereotypes men have about women and why women have more power than they think. Destiny believes that she is more than a rapper but she’s also a motivational speaker. Her goal in life is to inspire others whose dreams seem unreachable and make them realize that if no one believes in you, still believe in yourself! Destiny was born on February 10, 1988, a native of Richmond, Virginia
