They say wise men come from the east & this young man, crowned Mpumalanga’s finest, is no exception. Born & raised in Middelburg, Dosline (Takalani Mkansi) has been dj’ing & producing since 2003.
The name Dosline, comes from his nickname Dosi, which his family used when referring to his cute nature as a child. As he grew older his friends also adopted it. Being shy to be called by his childhood pet name but reluctant to get rid of it, he simply remixed it to “Dos” with the ‘I’ represented by a line. That is how Dosline came to be.
Dosline’s talent has taken him from his hometown to every province in South Africa and has also created a demand for his gift in Swaziland, Zimbabwe & Namibia. Locally he has been invited to play on some of our biggest radio station’s such as Metro Fm, 5FM & Y-fm. Dosline's production and Dj skills have paved the way for him to work & play side by side with legends in the house genre at huge events with names such as Black Coffee, Dj Fresh, Mahoota, Fistaz, Euphonik, Lulo Café, Dj Cleo, The Naked Dj, Wilson B. Nkosi, Eddie Zondi, Dj Tira, Glen Lewis, Dj Christos & Oskido.
The sky is not the limit for Dosline and as he works on his second album, his quest is to elevate to higher levels of musical understanding and he promises to continue being the Conscience of Dance Music.
Word on the street is the wait has been too long and to all the true House heads that have repeatedly called for Dosline’s second offering, your cries have been heard and answered! Mpumalanga’s finest dj is emerging from the studio with an explosive project.
This brilliant album entitled The 2nd Dose, is produced by Dosline himself and it features some of the country’s most celebrated vocalists and celebrities such as Ntsiki Mazwai, Kojo Baffoe, RubyGold, Olufemi, Veronica Wolpendz, BluHoney, Jodi Gold, Noluthando Meje(NollyNolz) & many more
The project could not have come at a better time because Dosline is currently travelling the country, playing & hosting events with some of S.As most popular Djs. This has gained him priceless insight into the club scene and it is with this knowledge thathe was able to produce an album that is suited for the people of Mzansi.
When asked to comment about the new CD and what people should expect, he simply replied by saying “the industry has been dry for a while now & we as artists and djs have not presented anything new & exciting, when I play around the country I see this and I’ve made it my personal responsibility to resurrect this art form. This is a timeless projects which has music to be played for and by the future generation, it’s a classic boss.
