Nu-jazz Brazilian artist Fabiana Passoni has a distinct sultry, voice and a fresh interpretive style. Her songs are a combination of jazz fusion with the older rhythms of Brazil such as bossa nova, baiao, and samba. Her intepretations are passionate, sensual and exciting. Her shows are a celebration of Brazilian life and culture; rich in percussion and expression. Fabiana recently won the 2012 Brazilian International Press Award for best Brazilian female singer living in the United States and was also selected as Talk 2 Brazil's 2012 Person of the Year.
In 2012 Fabiana was selected to perform in the hit musical Loving the Silent Tears. This performance along side other world famous singers and dancers before a sold out Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California (6,600) was an evening to behold.
Fabiana's Dim The Lights (EP CD) was released on January 15th, 2013. Focusing on 7 popular cover songs from the 70's & 80's, Fabiana used her unique, heartfelt interpretations and sensual voice woven in a gambit of Brazilian rhythms. These “remakes” in bossa nova, baião, and samba embraced a broad range of American/English styles and rhythms.
Her next release, Let Your Love Rise (EP) was released on June 5th, 2014. It featured her first jazz original with english lyrics; Let Your Love Rise. The 'flip side' is a bossa version of the James Brown hit I Feel Good. A final bonus track on the EP is a refreshing remake of the 1974 hit Jazzman. Let Your Love Rise spent over 14 weeks in the Smooth Jazz Independent Top 40 chart.
Fabiana's latest EP, Inner Bossa (EP) U.S. national radio release and promo campaign began May 15, 2015. Inner Bossa remained in the SmoothJazz Top 50 chart for 24 consecutive weeks & 18 weeks on the RadioWave Internet Top 100 Smooth Jazz Chart.
Fabiana is available for Private Parties, Night Clubs, Showcases & Festivals as a Trio, Quartet, 5-piece Brazilian Band (with or without Backing Vocals) or full 11-piece Brazilian Ensemble.

Who doesn’t love Brazilian music? Fabiana Passoni is an award-winning Brazilian vocalist with a compelling life story (she battled breast cancer for three years) who is recognized in her native country and has now released her first English-language project, the appropriately named DIM THE LIGHTS. Passoni has a sensual voice similar to the great Astrud Gilberto, which she displays on seven diverse, well-known classics. What a selection! You’ve heard them all in a different context – here, Passoni gives each a soft and lilting Bossa Nova touch with bouncing percussion. Like the best cover songs, Passoni’s retain the feel of the original but are presented in a new light. “Lovin’ You” features a new chorus (“La-la-la-la-la, you’re beautiful”) and a sweet acoustic guitar solo. “Lovely Day,” a Smooth Jazz favorite, is hushed and jazzy, with amazing, extended organ and guitar solos. And the Carpenters’ “Close to You” feels just right with sweet and simple strings backing Passoni’s husky, sexy vocals. Want more? There’s also “Rock With You,” “Magic,” “You’ll Never Find” and “Ain’t Nobody.” Romance is sure to heat up with DIM THE LIGHTS! ~BRIAN SOERGEL smoothjazz.com

Inner Bossa
Independent
With a sensual, romantic vibe driven by her distinctive sultry vocals and fresh interpretive style, Fabiana Passoni won the 2012 Brazilian International Press Award for Best Brazilian singer living in the U.S. and was also selected as Talk 2 Brazil’s 2012 Person of The Year. On her highly anticipated new EP INNER BOSSA, the beautiful and charismatic songstress offers a sweet, intimate seduction via a blend of clever covers and soul-drenched originals. The collection includes graceful, dreamy takes on Aretha Franklin’s classic “Daydreaming” and Spandau Ballet’s classic 80’s ballad “True,” in addition to the lovely, self-penned, whispery ballad “Remember My Name” and easily rhythmic “Mouvance.” There’s no better way to connect with your INNER BOSSA than through the music of Fabiana Passoni! ~JONATHAN WIDRAN smoothjazz.com 2015
FABIANA PASSONI - Naturalmente Brasil
"Naturalmente Brasil is a genuine meaningful hymn to life performed by a singer whose vocal qualities are backed by an artistic sincerity that reaches to your heart from the first song. She sings from the heart about hope, dreams, love, the everyday life without any artificiality, combining soft bossa-novas and velvet sambas with swing, electronics, flamenco and pop." jazzworldquest 2011

"This is only Fabiana Passoni's second solo album, but to her it's a new beginning. After her 2007 debut É Minha Vez (It's My Turn), a lot happened in Fabiana's life. A cancer survivor, Fabiana knows what living is, and in Naturalmente Brasil she sings about "getting back up again and fighting for life and living happily." Naturalmente Brasil is a journey of Fabiana's come back."

I have been a fan of Fabiana's music for a few years now. I have her other two albums in Portuguese, Naturalmente and É Minha Vez. She just gets better with each new cd. This new ep is sung in English with a new spin on some smooth jazz. She and her band have made these classic covers even smoother with Brazilian rhythms and Fabi's sultry voice. Her Brazilian accent is alluring. My current favorite on the ep is "Ain't Nobody". All the songs are well crafted and Fabiana so makes them hers. Make a caipirinha (com cachaça!), relax, have a listen, "Dim the Lights" and be reminded of a lovely warm night in Brazil.
