Prominent Reggae star, Owen Moncrieffe, more popularly known as Fantan Mojah feels lucky to remain alive today after a serious motor vehicle accident that took place on Sunday.
The singer, known for singles such as Hungry and Stronger, was returning from the Reggae Fever stage show at Puerto Seco Beach in St. Ann when the vehicle he travelled in overturned when approaching a corner. According to Fantan Mojah, during an interview with IRIE FM, rain fell during their trip back; causing the vehicle to slide off the road once he lost control near the corner. Two passengers were temporarily knocked unconscious but quickly recovered.
Fantan Mojah suffered a broken finger in the ordeal but expressed gratitude for still having life.
“A di first mi a go thru sommen like dat..wi jus’ give thank yuh nuh..we give thanks fi life, health and strength and wi come out happy and alright,” he intimated.
However, one thing that irked Fantan Mojah about the accident’s aftermath was the fact that a fellow entertainer, who passed the crash site, didn’t stop to check on him or anyone involved to see if they were alright.
“Mi see entertainer a pass him next entertainer bredda who crash a road an’ mi nuh feel mi wudda have di heart fi really drive pass a next entertainer bredda and doe really stop an’ see wah gwaan and see if everybody alright. Mi see di man jus’ drive past and neva really stop,” he said.
Fantan Mojah’s most recent accomplishments include his hit single released in October, entitled Rasta Got Soul as well as a much talked about performance in Zimbabwe.
