Born Antoine Dion Diamond Washington on November 26, 1984, at Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington, D.C., Gunnah is the oldest of 5 children. With the absence of his father, his mother, Rochelle Washington did the best she could for him and his siblings. Living a rough life in Washington, D.C., Gunnah’s immediate family moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1994. Harrisburg is where he began his passion to write his own music as a way to express himself, just like his grandmother. Gunnah says he inherited his love of music from his grandmother, they both are in love with music.
His grandmother used to gather groups of talented children from around the D.C. area back in the 1980’s. She called them “The Little People of Awareness” and put together talent shows, parades and other events for children of all ages to showcase their talent. “I remember when I was maybe a few months to a year old during a performance, I ran out on stage and started trying to break dance.” He recalls. “I think my aunt still have the footage,” says Gunnah.
As a teen, Gunnah quickly became introduced to what we know of today as street life. Running the streets of Uptown, Harrisburg he began staying out late, selling drugs, constantly getting kicked out of his mother’s home for misbehavior and also introduced to teen-parenting. When Gunnah would get kicked out he’d go talk to his older friend, the late Kenyattus Kyles who would give him advice on certain things. He also had a lot of faith in Gunnah when it came to his musical abilities and would pay for Gunnah’s studio time as well as encourage him to keep pushing no matter what he was going through. By the year 2000, Gunnah made his first appearance on underground music scene on well-known local DJ, DJ Smitty’s "16 Bars Part 2" Mixtape under the name "Twone Gunnz". He continued school and graduated from Harrisburg High School in 2003.
In 2005 friend Kenyattus Kyles was murdered during an altercation with a male of a Jamaican decent. Still dealing with the lost of Kenyattus whom he considers his best friend, Gunnah was charged with Simple Possession of a Controlled Substance and was facing some possible time in prison. Instead he was given 13 months County Probation in which he eventually got off by the 11th month by paying off his fines and cost. After Gunnah got off probation he then immediately moved out of PA and back to the DMV area to reside with his aunt and uncle where he continued to write music and promote the little of music he had on various websites.
In January 2007, Gunnah decided to move back Harrisburg to be with his son. In that same time period, he linked up with a set of twins singers/rappers/song writers Jamelle and Avery Noon. The twins had already been going by the name L.O.R. which at that time stood for Loyalty Over Royalty so they all decided they would keep the name and start producing music together as a whole. By 2009, the group had changed their name to L.O.R. Gang which now stands Livin. Off. Respeck. Gang
As the group was doing what they had to do with their music, the gang got blessed and were nominated for Best Group & Best Video of the Year for Central Pa’s 2nd Annual Hip Hop Award Showcase. Although they walked away empty handed, L.O.R. Gang’s name quickly spread. They have performed at many different venues and events around the area including opening up for major artist like; Macy Gray & Chrisette Michele in Philadelphia, Pa. They had also performed at DJ Fyne aka Actress Tameka Swain’s Toy Drive in Berwyn Heights, Maryland hosted by (B.E.T.) Comedian Lazee Lamont. By continuously releasing songs online and performing anywhere they possibly could, L.O.R. Gang became one of Central Pennsylvania’s favorite groups in the area.
Working in a group didn’t stop Gunnah from doing his own solo projects. On August 21, 2010 he released his first ever solo project the "Aye Yung" mixtape hosted by underground blend master DJ, DJ Tec1. That project later won Central Pa's Best Mixtape Of The Year for 2011.
November 16, 2010 Gunnah’s only younger brother Kendrell Washington, 18, was murdered during a robbery on the way home from a corner store. Feeling like he wanted to give up, Gunnah remembered words from close friend Kenyattus plus his support system wouldn’t allow him to do such. So Gunnah continued working and released four other mixtapes (including his group debut project) before the year 2012. “I believe hard work, dedication and they want to learn more will do nothing but get you the success you always wanted” says Gunnah. Who also says he believes he is now ready to take his music career to the next level.
Gunnah is still going hard and grinding with his passion and love for music and with the support of his family, friends, and people of the city of Harrisburg, he’s waiting for his turn to make it big and be at the top. Everybody has their own opinions about Gunnah’s music but one thing is for sure, none of the feedback is negative and will not make Gunnah throw in the towel or give up on what he loves. Producer Just Blaze said "His music is the type of music I'm used to working with, it has a authentic sound and feel to it."
