Hi, I am Jamie Scott Harris, and I am the world's next great yoga teacher.
Over the last 8 years, I have experienced the supreme highs of love, friendship, physical, financial, and career achievement, as well as the depths of love lost, physical affliction, and the loss to cancer of both a close friend and my superhero, my mother. It is in honor of her very essence, and the idea that we are ALL superheroes in our families, communities, and the world that I have taken my passions for Budokon Yoga, martial arts, philosophy, and music on the road.
With a guitar in one hand and a green juice in the other, my journey has already covered two Wanderlust Festivals, up and down the East Coast, Bonnaroo, and this month I will assist Budokon University Founder, Cameron Shayne, on a 3-week tour of Europe...
My vision for the world is for everyone to understand how powerful they are... When people get that they matter, we will treat each other with dignity, honor, and respect, and creativity, joy, and abundance will flow.
I will be teaching these breakthrough in transformation level practices world-wide to passionate practitioners, corporations, rock and movie stars, pro athletes, and people with a vision for a great and peaceful planet.
Come join me on the ride....

What a ride.....
#Spanishguitar accompaniment during my #sunset #yoga practice this evening. On the plaza in between the #ancient #cathedral and the #Mediterranean #sea. I'm really indulging in this #siesta from what most people think of as "real life." But what I've realized in these few weeks is that this is as real as anything I've ever done. I love to work, and even more importantly, I love my work, each day bringing lightness, fun, movement and meditation into people's lives...AND, there is more..or less..whichever way we choose to look at it, to life than work. I don't need to be in an exotic place, sleeping late, drinking coffee and eating an entire pig for dinner (which we did last night!!)..but I do get to SLOW DOWN, breathe, smile, and recognize that life is only as serious as we make it out to be each morning when we rise. I am blessed in so many ways and I am excited to embark on all sorts of new adventures..especially the ones happening in my own home!
Oh the possibilities....
10/20 London, UK. Monday morning and I'm chillin. I used to feel guilty about getting away like this..like if I'm not hustling all the time it meant that I'm some sort of let down. SCREW THAT. Life is not just "what I make of it," it's even more "what I think of it!" And I think my life is freakin awesome! I don't owe anyone anything! I have love and family, I have freedom and friends, I have experience and talent, and the right to choose how I feel about it all. No one is getting any younger! We can't really stop or slow life down..so just enjoy the freaking ride! Do what creates the most love, the most joy, the most connection. Stop feeling guilty that you're not fulfilling the "standard model" of what you're "supposed to be doing." Take care of yourself and others. Eat, drink, screw, smoke, smile, travel, work, laugh, cry and FEEL what it is to be ALIVE..otherwise we ought to be dead..and that's a perfectly fine choice too! As long as you own it.
It's Sunday morning..
excitement, jet lag, adrenaline and missing my lady have kept me from sleeping much over these few nights in London..but it's grappling day of my first Blue Belt training weekend and I have all intentions of showing up powerfully for myself and more importantly for all of the other senseis here this weekend. The vibe is definitely different from our US trainings but certainly not because we're lacking in talented, intelligent and eager students. Rather, my experience here is that the students are open, relaxed and interested in taking themselves on in new ways. I've made some new friends and am hugely grateful for the hospitality, sincerity and humor I'm experiencing
Train today, chill tomorrow, and then Budokon goes to Amsterdam on Tuesday!
Budokon London training weekend came to a climactic close this evening as Senseis Steve Clark and Greg earned their Red Belts with heir beautiful demonstration of the Kata! It was a great way to close yet another successful weekend with the Budokon family
Rest is in order as I heal some BJJ wounds....Crashing at Phili's and prepping for Amster-dayummmm!
Friday's Budokon London Training was smashing! Everyone really showed up in positive and eager ways as we all are taking on new skills and challenges.
While working with the White Belts, I was asked to teach 3 students who had, cumulatively, 8 weeks of yoga experience between them! My instinct was to break down fundamentals, give them some yogic insights and teach them ways to make the Kata work with where their bodies are today. However, these 3-day intensive training weekends are curriculum-based and Cameron charged me with the responsibility of making sure these 3 knew the WHOLE Kata. At first, I wanted to resist and explain how they have no idea what they're doing...but when I decided to relent and remembered that I am here to learn, I followed through on his request. The results were AWESOME. We ran the kata 3 1/2 times before finally running out of time. By the end, all 3 we're moving confidently, with fire in their eyes and hunger to learn more! Plus it meant that I did a total of about 9 katas yesterday! Plus assisting Cam's handstand workshop in the evening!
This reminds me of the importance of setting personal and team goals. The idea that if one gets their mind centered on a destination, the means of arrival can and will reveal themselves.
Greetings from Kensington, London Town! It's a beautiful, overcast morning and I'm gearing up for day 2 of the Budokon Europe adventure! Yesterday felt like it lasted 40 hours as I started in NYC, through Iceland, on to Britain and started straight in with our eager yoga teacher trainees all afternoon. The evening brought sushi dinner and some dancing @ XOYO until too late, finally arriving at Philippa's new pad and crashing for the night. Today, the martial arts students will be joining the yogis and I'll be triple-dipping, teaching the Yogis with Cameron, teaching the Red Belt Kata to the white belts, and learning the Blue Belt Kata myself. Better go eat my Wheaties!
These past few months have really put to test what it means for me to be a man, a yogi, an artist, a lover and a friend. I am continually humbled by the ebb and flow of the universe and am grateful for the teachers, family and future that are showing up in my life.
I am getting pumped up about this amazing journey I get to experience called life... I will be hopping across the pond in approximately 2 weeks to bring my vision world-wide! I stand for a world of people who get that they matter, that they are all superheros, and that when they get it, we will all experience a world of honor, dignity, and respect for one another...
I get to teach yoga practicies that embody this kind of vision, and now I will be starting the Eurpean Tour to get this show on the road in a HUGE way!
First stop, London, October 15th. I hope to see some wildly inspiring and courageous friends along the way! Join me for the ride!
-Namaste
