To old heads, hip hop is dead. But to a few young heads hip hop is alive, it’s just not mainstream. That would be the crowd that Kwa finds himself. Born September 3, 1992 in South Florida, Kwame Seymour, aka Kwa, spent most of his life between south Broward, and Miami. Particularly in the area known as Carver Ranches. As a kid he felt like the sky was the limit, he could be anything he wanted to be so he was always involved in something. That something was sometimes sports, sometimes music and at other times something in the streets. Personally, life is art and all the pain, heartache, trials, and ups and downs made him the artist he is! Music has been the constant. Music has always been around him, empowering him to embrace who he is, his uniqueness and eccentricities. Kwa favorite artists and influences spread across genres, each possessing at least one quality that shows hip hop will survive. At times Kwa feels indifferent from the world, Kwa use his pain, anger, sadness, love and those struggles in his music to establish a genuine connection between him and listeners. It’s that authenticity that will ensure his music stands.
