Obol is dark progressive rock, encompassing a wide array of pop and mainstream influences including Muse, Placebo, Devin Townsend, Marillion, Leprous, and A Perfect Circle. The songs are designed to create visual images for the listener, but otherwise sound deceptively simple, accessible, and full of memorable hooks.
Vocals/Bass/Keys: Barry Craig
Guitars: Jun Mantrano
Drums: Jeremy Maher
"Halfway through the album, I felt as if I was listening to the soundtrack to a new Alien movie, but directed by Hitchcock... Obol opens our eyes and ears to another reality… a reality where hope is the hero and dreams are the super power. This is a must listen album.”
— Raymond Hayden, Seattle Wave Radio

This was to be our final show for 2020 as Covid was already shutting things down at other venues around Seattle.
We played with our friends Reality Check and Batbox, who had sort of a Cake-inspired pop.
We love you all and hope to play for you again soon!
All Hollow's Eve Party Show. This was our first live performance since the Covid lock down. Obol opened for Thunders of Wrath and Rain Devil. This was also the first performance where Barry is wearing a wireless headset mic, and the crowd interaction that entails. And of course everyone was in costume! A good turnout from Tacoma, and it was a really good experience overall.
The "Raven Show" at Chop Suey, with Emotional Trash and Atrocity Girl. This was our first show back in Seattle since the Covid shutdown. It was dumping cold rain outside, and most everyone was across town at the Freakout Festival, but we ALWAYS love playing Chop Suey regardless. They have been very good to us over the years. According to our listeners, we sounded better than ever.
"An Evening with Obol" with our friends in Dream Circuit.
We played multiple encores --- 16 songs total --- including the entire Quizshow album, along with some new tracks, and an acoustic version of Gender. This was our 3rd show at the Factory Luxe. We helped the venue during the Covid crisis as they have been really good to us. We had our best crowd turnout at this show so far (post-Covid), with lots of love and support from the audiencea and staff. All in all, a phenomenal experience.
