What happens when you put two fierce females in a room together? Brooklyn Tankard clued us in when she attended a performance of NeNe Leakes' one-woman show in Nashville Wednesday and had a fabulous time "vibing" with The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, as you can see in the below Instagram video. "Your energy was everything last night! I am soooo freaking proud of all of your accomplishments!" the Thicker Than Water daughter said of NeNe's show. "You had me in tears of laughter all night and loved vibing with you Queen!"
Not only did Brooklyn clearly love the show, but she also expressed how much she admires NeNe. "I love when you said 'I'm not a comedian, I'm a Hustler, BETCH!'" Brooklyn gushed in the caption to the above clip. "I see so much of myself in you, THANKS for being authentic and inspiring me to continue to be even more openly raw about who I am! You just don't know how you gave me permission to be my REAL crazy, silly self no matter who is in the room!"
NeNe also showed her appreciation for everyone that came out to support her show on Wednesday. "NASHVILLE TENN, what can I say....THANK YOU soooooo much for the love," she wrote on Instagram Wednesday. "[M]an when I created this 1 woman show I didn't know fully what I was getting myself into! The calls I've received from Comedy Clubs, Casino's, other artist and the love I've gotten from city to city brings tears to my eyes and proves to me that I made the right move! I love you all"
Brooklyn isn't the only Bravoleb to come out to support NeNe on her tour. RHOA's Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas have also seen their friend in action.
In case you needed a song to party to this weekend, Brooklyn Tankard has your back. The Thicker Than Water singer dropped her single "When I'm Gone" last month on Soundcloud, and it's quickly becoming the go-to jam for any and all of your dance playlist needs. Since it's release, it has amassed nearly one million plays on Soundcloud. Not too shabby.
"My debut single 'When I'm Gone' is an energetic pop dance track that makes you want to groove! When I perform it, I do dance moves that I normally can't do. No Sasha Fierce, LOL!!" she told The Daily Dish, via email, about the song which also landed at No. 1 on Soundcloud's Pop Music Chart. "I can't wait until the single release on this Sunday, June 5th, when it will become available to everyone online!"
And that's just the beginning for Brooklyn. She has some very big plans up her super-stylish sleeves. "I am also so excited to be filming my video for 'When I'm Gone' and doing a video tour that kicks of June 8th for my visual album I Am Royalty," she said. "I will be touring London, UK, United States Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands to capture my footage. I can't wait to share it with my inspiring music supporters which have helped me reach nearly 1 million plays on Soundcloud!"
And Brooklyn loves seeing her fans affected in a positive way to her energetic and upbeat music. "Music is such an artistic and fulfilling way of sharing my real life experiences and expressing myself to people around the world," she said. "My heart smiles every time someone is inspired, enlightened or encouraged to dance and sing to my music!"
Catch Brooklyn and the song's premiere on the Thicker Than Water season finale Sunday at 9/8c. Check out a preview of what's to come below.
Brooklyn Tankard, the breakout star of Bravo TV’s Thicker than Water continues to be a fan favorite because she always keeps it real whether her family members want her to or not. In an exclusive interview with CocoaFab, the red hot reality star talks about her new music, acting career and wanting to leave a legacy.
Q: Your new single, “When I’m gone”, has hit the #1 spot on the soundcloud charts; can you tell me a little bit about where you get your inspiration from?
Brooklyn: Everything inspires me. God inspires me, my daughter inspires me, my man that can relate to me inspires me. I had a young lady walk up to me and say that I inspired her to change her life and live her dreams no matter what anybody has to say, and that alone inspires me. I live my life to the fullest. It is a fulfillment that comes with tapping into [my] personality and owning it.
Q: During season three you had some concerns about your dad supporting your music career, how has that now changed?
Brooklyn: It’s been interesting for sure with the music process and trying to get my dad’s support. Now ever since my music is number one on the Soundcloud charts he has been very receptive of it and starting to see that it can be a real career option for me. It’s not a joke, it’s not a game, and he is starting to see that I am really serious about this. He definitely respects my music career now and even goes to social media to promote my music. That’s his way of saying, “I see you baby.” Moving forward I would really like to see his support on the front end of things but right now I am happy with him supporting me and excited about the music and him being on board.
Q: You have been very open in the past about going under the knife, what made you want to explore plastic surgery?
Brooklyn: I think it is a choice that everyone has the right to make and be conscious of what’s best for you. I’m a fashionista, I love fashion and I’m big into health. I have lost weight on my own but I still wasn’t able to get rid of my belly roll so I got a tummy tuck. I am a performer and I love to dance. I’m very energetic and I can’t have belly rolls! Being in the fashion and beauty industry made me want to get it as well. I like to look good when I look in the mirror and have the Coca-Cola figure.
Q: Have you seen personal growth throughout the three seasons of Thicker Than Water?
Brooklyn: Absolutely. My image came up but then also my business savvy. My hair business is continuing to grow and my first hair expo is coming up and that is something I’m really excited about. My music is just another level of me trusting myself and not listening to what other people have to say. This my life at the end of the day and I want to leave a legacy so I can push and support my daughter Diamond in her endeavors. I can’t let anybody stop that and I have to be the best me and trust my intuition while still chasing my dreams. Other people’s reactions to your dreams do not matter. I have just finished up in my first movie [called Hav Faith] which is in 400 theaters and doing my first lead role in October. I am living my dreams!
Q: Where do you see yourself in the next 2-3 years?
Brooklyn: Well, hopefully some more hit singles! But I see myself touring, acting in multiple types of films. I am going to continue to expand. I am an entertainer so I don’t want to put myself in a box. I will always continue to advance. A lot of times people are not happy because they are not real with themselves and it feels so good when you are real with yourself. Sometimes that means motivating yourself.
Q: What can we expect from the season finale?
Brooklyn: I will be performing my single on the season finale which is really exciting because my single release is that day as well. I will be releasing a visual album at the end of August and the “I am Royalty” project. “When I’m Gone” is the first single off my visual album.
Be sure to check out Brooklyn’s new song, “When I’m Gone”, available on iTunes and Google Play June 5th.

Queen Brooklyn Tankard is ready to reign supreme on the charts. The Thicker Than Water daughter just released her debut single "When I'm Gone" on Soundcloud, and we're already singing along.
This empowerment anthem is so fierce and catchy, you're not going to want it to get out of your head — which is a good thing, because it's probably going to stay there for a few days. Brooklyn teased the song to The Daily Dish in March, saying it has "a dance, disco, pop, fun feel. And it’s just a woman talking about, 'Look. Hey. I’ve been putting up with your mess and your games, what you gonna do about it when I’m gone? Deuces. I ain’t sticking around for this.'"

We've followed Brooklyn as she tries to jumpstart her music career on Thicker Than Water this season (clip above), even if her dreams haven't always been met with the most enthusiasm from her gospel jazz maestro dad Ben Tankard.
But it looks like Ben is now a proud papa. He gave a shout out to Brooklyn's new single on Instagram upon its release.
And Ben isn't the only fan of the song. Brooklyn expressed her gratitude to early positive reviews of her single on Instagram. "It feels so good to go back to the roots of what I've loved since a child, GOOD MUSIC! I always sang in girl groups, choirs, played instruments and even sang backup for a big name or two but this was the first song I've EVER fully recorded in my life and it's soooo dope!!!" she wrote on Instagram after the song was released last week. "I was so nervous recording my 1st time in the studio but big thanks to [producer] @blacelvis and [singer-songwriter] @neshmcqueen for pushing me!!!"
"When I'm Gone" is coming to iTunes and Google Play on June 5 and will be part of an upcoming visual album aptly titled I am Royalty. So what else can you expect from the visual album? "All I can tell you is that this music is the bomb dot com. It’s not what you may expect with my father being a pastor. It’s not gospel, but I do have lyrics with substance. That means something," she previously told The Daily Dish. "Music that’s going to make you feel and feel your emotion that you want to feel that day. Get you moving, whether you wanna dance, or whether you need some inspiration for that day. Real life music."
If "When I'm Gone" is only Brooklyn's first single, we can't wait to see the full visual album.

As Bravo's reality show, Thicker than Water enters its third season, viewers will get to see a new side of media mogul and hair maven, Brooklyn Tankard. She's expanding her resume to include singing, acting and of course there's her in-demand hair care line. We caught up with the mom-preneur and media mogul to discuss her the expansion of her hair empire, which now includes a luxury lashes, a Remy color line and clip-in extensions. And, recently, she's ventured into wholesale retail to facilitate entrepreneurship in the Black community and beyond. Yea— the woman's got serious business savvy and she's only 26! Read on to find out how she cares for her hair and a surprising way to dry your extensions on the go.
ESSENCE: How extension application, how should you apply and remove your clip-ins?
TANKARD: I suggest that when women have clips that they use a mannequin head with a net cap on it to, so when they remove their extensions at night they can place them on the cap [in sequential order] so they’re lying neatly and you don’t have to worry about tangles, etc. This is also great because it helps with time management—a lot of people use clip-ins because they don’t have a lot of time. Also make sure that you’re taking care of the hair.
ESSENCE: Talk to me about extension hair care and why Remy hair is the better quality to buy.
TANKARD: [My line] is all Remy hair, which means that the hair cuticles are smooth and laying in the same direction, so when the hair is cut, it’s still held together in the same direction. [When it comes to washing,] I always recommend using sulphate free and making sure that you hair stays hydrated and moisturized; especially as summer approaches. If you can use a light oil like argon or jojoba oil [to help the hair maintain its’ shine.]
ESSENCE: Should you sleep in your extensions?
TANKARD: Not if they're clip-in; that’s a good way to break you hair and experience hair breakage. The same goes for wigs, it’s good to take them off at night, unless you’re dealing with glue–it can be a bit of a hassle and bad for your hair to remove and reapply glue on a daily basis.
ESSENCE: What about washing extensions, what’s the protocol?
TANKARD: I like to co-wash my extensions with OGX Coconut Milk Conditioner ($10.99, at target.com). You also want to be conscious of the temperature of water that you use on your hair. Lukewarm to warm water is better. For drying, I like to air dry, but some people like to blow dry for the sake of time. I know some people that like to microwave the hair to dry it, but I’m not suggesting that
ESSENCE: Wait—expand on that. How do you dry your hair in the microwave?
TANKARD: I have a friend that will dry her hair in the microwave. She’ll wash the hair and wrap in in three layers of paper towels, run it under a little water and put it in the microwave for five minutes and it’ll be done.
ESSENCE: So, microwave it on high heat for 5 minutes and it’ll be good to go?
TANKARD: Yes—high heat for five minutes and it’s done!
We'll remind you here that Tankard noted that she wasn't suggesting that you try drying your hair in the microwave, but we're curious about the technique. Leave us a comment and let us know if you decide to give it a try.
You can catch Brooklyn Tankard on Bravo's hit reality show, Thicker Than Water on Sundays at 9/8C and purchase her hair line or get involved in her wholesale retail program on BrooklynTankard.com.

“This is the realest season yet,” Brooklyn tells us, noting we’ll see some serious conflict with her dad, Ben, down the line. “I really yearned to have this close relationship with my father, which we’re working on, and I’ll just say that sugar turns to salt after you hold onto it for awhile.”
This season it was just straight raw and real,” the hardworking mama says.
Adds younger sister Cyrene, “This season there’s lots of things we find out about each other that we didn’t know before, so you’ll see fights but you’ll see resolve.”

America’s favorite reality TV family is topping the charts.
Bravo announced today that the addictive feel-good series, that follows the hilarious and ambitious Tankard clan, reached a ratings milestone reaching 1.8 million viewers.
The popular episode featured Thicker Than Water family patriarch Ben inviting Marcus to preach at the church in hopes of convincing his son that Murfreesboro is the best place to start a family. Soon-to-be-empty nesters Ben and Jewel took Cyrene to Howard University for her freshman year. Brooklyn decided to follow her entrepreneurial dreams and leave the Tankard mansion for good.
The breakout star this season is certainly boss chick Brooklyn. Fans can’t get enough of her colorful antics as she works to build her hair company and forge an independent path for herself and her daughter.
“It’s hard to be successful without being confident,” Brooklyn told CocoaFab. “The things you have to deal with head-on require confidence. My daughter was also a huge motivator for me. She changed my whole life and continues to be a big motivation for me.”
Our homegirl-next-door is relatable and real (with a touch of the ratchet just to keep things interesting) so we’re betting there’s a spin-off series for Brooklyn in the future. Can’t you see her looking for love and building her hair care empire?

Brooklyn Tankard isn't afraid to tell you she's had work done.
Thicker Than Water's third season opens with the 27-year-old debuting her new body, which she describes as a sexy "Coca-Cola figure."
"After I lost about maybe 20 pounds, I kinda just hit a wall," Tankard tells ETonline. "In addition to that, I was having a lot of back pain, because my boobs were, like, a size Z. So, I had a breast reduction, and my boobs are still big!"
"I think I lost a person just by taking my boobs away!" Tankard jokes. "I also had liposuction. I had that extra baby fat taken out of my waistline and -- thank you, Jesus -- got rid of those love handles."

"I even took a little fat, just a little bit, and put it in my hips just to get rid of that Spongebob Squarepants situation," Tankard continues. "Now I have this nice, hourglass figure. It's really fun, and I'm still working out, as well … keeping a healthy lifestyle. I'm really starting to tone up now, and that's just coming from, you know, my weightlifting and everything like that. I'm glad that I made the decision. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself."

Tankard says the choice to go under the knife was 100 percent for herself, and had nothing to do with viewers critiquing and hating on her.
"I don't feel pressure from TV to necessarily look how they want me to look," Tanked shares. "I do feel pressure from myself to look how I want to look. Because, I'm a fashionista … I love to wear the kind of fashion that I want to wear."
"Now I can wear different cuts, different styles, and I'm just having so much fun playing in my closet, honey," Tankard adds. "Oh man, it's like being in heaven."
"If I want to wear a bikini, dog gonnit, I wanna feel comfortable in my bikini," Tankard admits. "I want to look a certain way in my bikini, and it's not because I don't love myself if I see my stomach looking like I'm nine months pregnant in a bikini. It's just that I don't think it's the most fashionable."

When Thicker Than Water first aired three years ago, Tankard says she weighed nearly 200 lbs.
"It wasn't the sexiest weight on me," Tankard admits. "[Still], I was just divalicious, baby. I was more flamboyant back then than I am now at my smaller weight. So, it wasn't about needing to feel like I'm worthy … that's not where my value comes from. It comes from who God created me to be, and my character, and it's more about who you are as a person that makes you beautiful on the inside."
Even so, Tankard says her new body will only help her as she pursues a music career -- a process which will be tracked on the new season. Check out an ETonline exclusive scene from the premiere:
"I think people are going to be surprised by the type of music that I do," Tankard teases. "You'll see both extremes. If you need inspiration, or if you just want to twerk and shake your butt that day, you're gonna get it all in one EP."
While the season kicks off with Tankard just starting her singing journey, she promises we'll see "fire" performances and the "raw and real" process it takes to get there.
Tankard also says fans will get a lot of raw and real moments between her and her dad. Tankard, who has been very open about her past legal troubles and personal issues on the show, admits this is her "most transparent season" to date.

"Everybody knows my father and I haven't always had a picture-perfect relationship," Tankard shares. "But I am aiming for a close relationship. You'll see me yearning for that relationship, and trying to mend that relationship back to where it needs to be this season. And it gets real, man. It gets real. Like, walk-off-the-set real."
"This season is just about, hey, wanting my dad to accept the best me, and to love the best me, even when the best me is in the process of getting to the finish line," Tankard says.
