RL SUPERBAD  (AKA: Robin Lane ) is a Primitive, Experimental Mississippi Blues Man, based from the North Missisippi Hill Country Blues genre with a mixture of Delta, Chicago, Rock, String Band....which equals Alien KonTraFusion. He is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, song writer/story teller, One Man Band and instrument builder (Low N Slow Creations). Born early 60s August 2 in Topeka, KS. With no musical background from family or friends, RL didn't begin playing until 2009, a year after coming to Clarksdale, MS for a weekend in early 2008. There he heard and met Robert "Wolfman" Belfour who introduced him to North Mississippi Hill Country Blues, which changed his life forever. That same night he met Terry Harmonica Bean and Sean "Bad" Apple, both of whom frequently played in Clarksdale juke joints. RL worked with his good friend Tater on the latter's CD titled "SUPERBAD", which was released 11/20/10. Unfortunately, Tater had passed at 63 years old on 9/10/10. To get him a Sidewalk Plaque, RL raised funds by hosting Tater's Memorial Birthday Bash at Club 2000, as well as Jams at Cat Head, Juke Joint Festival and other downtown venues. In 2011 RL played his first JJF and since has played at Sunflower Blues Festival, King Biscuit Blues Fest, Deep Blues Fest, Memphis in May, KnobFest, Huntsville Cigar Box Guitar Fest, Clarksdale Cigar Box Guitar Fest, Nashville Cigar Box Guitar Festival , Ozark Cigar Box Guitar Festival, Buddy Guy's in Chicago, and all over the streets of Clarksdale. Having shared the stage with Robert Belfour, T Model Ford, Sean Apple and Big Boy Martin Grant, Mr. Tater, Liz Mandeville, Bill Abel, Maurice Vaughan, John Long, Reverend Robert, SpoonMan, Ray Cashman, Watermelon Slim, Deak Harp, Rhode Island Red, Reverend KM Williams and various others, RL is currently playing with Mason Stevens (AKA Mason JARrr Stevens) as a duo.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       KonTraFusion (Duo: RL & Mason " Jarr" Stevens" & Or Guest)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Mason "Jarr" Stevens is a Blues Guitarist /Cigar Box Guitar , Composer , Song Writer. From Richmond, VA. At 14 began playing 60's Soul gigs primarily. After HighSchool he Concentrated on Blues. Musical Influences Include : Kenny Burrell , Albert Collins , Steve Cropper , Diego del Gastor , John Lee Hooker , Pink Floyd , Stockhausen , Yma Sumac & Rev KM Williams. Music Education Includes : Flamenco Guitar study in directed by Diego del Gasto for 6 Mounth's in Moron de la Frontera , Spain 1973 , Degree in Composition from Berklee College of Music 1978 , Music Production & Mastering (Milan Bogdan ) Studies NashVille State 2010- 2011.   Career Highligts : Recorded At Stax Records as a Blues Duo (Unreleased) 1968 , Scored 4 Films For the University of Southern California's Film School ( " The Explosion Artist " 1981 , received the AFI Best Dramatic Film Award ) , Recored the Classic Space Music album "Cosmic Flight" with Tony Gerber and William Linton in Nashville 1986: Released his first solo album on space for Music label "Luna  Waves" in an attempt to combine blues with space music 2001 (credited by critic Bill Binkleman as the first true space blues album): Released the album "Soulshinning" as a member of Cotton Blossom Band [Tony Gerber multi-intrumentalist, Mike Doster on bass (formely with BB King for 17 years), and "Futureman" Roy Wooten of the Wooten Brothers and Bela Fleck on percussion] 2014. Critic Brad Hardisty picked "Soulshining" as one of the top 10 Nashville and Regional albums of 2014, an honor shared by Ray Price, Ricky Scaggs, Jack White, and others. Over the past 5 years Mason has been playing with Robin Lane AKA:RL SUPERBAD as KonTraFusion (primitive, experimental Mississippi blues) primarily at festivals in the Delta. He continues to teach guitar/bass/theory lessons which he began in 1979. His space music has been featured nationally on such sindicated radio shows as Hearts of Space, Echoes, and Coast to coast AM With George Noory.
