Strick

Strick Calhoun, Hip-Hop/Rap Artist.
Born, raised, and ironically known in the small town of Calhoun, Georgia for his northern rap flow and highly skilled skating.

Strick, not like most artists in the South, was influenced by early 90's east coast hip-hop and rap music.
As a teenager, Strick started to experiment with “free styling” and sold mix tapes during high school. As the buzz of his freestyles circulated, he was given the opportunity to perform during his high school prom in 2004. Because of his choice in musical taste, the southern music crowd didn't recognize his talent right away.
After taking a break from music to focus on college, Strick was later persuaded to get back into music by close friends and family. He chose music and was able to be managed for a year in 2008 by Lenon Caine from Summerhouse Sounds. (Rest in peace.) Strick decided to part from the indie label but was still recognized for his feature on label mate/producer Dj Dirty D's single “Fast lane” (YouTube).
In 2009, Strick caught the attention of another indie label, Vigalanti Records. During the first session, the label owner was convinced Strick was a breath of fresh air. Strick was later introduced to a close friend of label owner William Thompson (Vigalanti Records) with an opportunity to get on with Universal Records. Even though the indie label felt Strick still needed some polishing up, Strick was still offered a single album deal with Vigalanti Records.
After a good year of working on his album -Back to Business- with Vigalanti, Strick decided to depart from the label for unjust contract speculations.
Strick had made a name for himself in the underground scene of northwest Georgia and also some surrounding states like Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Since then, Strick has performed at shows with Chingo Bling, Gucci Mane, Jackie Chain, Rocko and Sean Paul of Youngbloodz and is now working on his self independent project under 4igurelV (Figure Four).
