There are some changes to this lot that set it apart from that release earlier this year, but in the press release Phillips did a bit of burying the lede – after mentions of "Brilliant Hard Titanium" and some other aesthetic tweaks, there's this: the winner of this lot will get an exclusive trip to Japan to meet the watchmakers behind the Kodo, including a visit to the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi.The dial is, as all Grand Seiko dials are, immaculate. As a man who grew up in Wisconsin, I'm all too familiar with snow drifts after a big windy storm – ridges of snow pile up, and even smaller lines are carved in-between by the snow. So points for verisimilitude.
