Car Keys is a new feature introduced in iOS 14.5 and later versions, which allows you to use your iPhone or Apple Watch as a digital car key to unlock and start your car. To use this feature, you need a compatible car model and an iPhone or Apple Watch that supports Car Keys.
Here are the steps to set up and use Car Keys on your iPhone:
Check compatibility: Make sure your car model supports Car Keys and your iPhone or Apple Watch is running iOS 14.5 or later.
Add Car Key: Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap the "+" sign in the top right corner. Follow the prompts to add your Car Key.
Set up Car Key: You will need to authenticate your Car Key with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. You can also choose to add a secondary authentication for added security.
Use Car Key: Once your Car Key is set up, you can unlock and start your car by holding your iPhone or Apple Watch near the car's NFC reader. You can also share your Car Key with others through iMessage.
Manage Car Keys: You can manage your Car Keys in the Wallet app by tapping on the Car Key and selecting "More." From here, you can remove or share your Car Key.
