BCB releasing our 3rd record at The Brass House in Austin, TX! We're extremely excited about this Limited Edition "Life is Still Good" EP release; it'll be a special acoustic driven evening, with the new album, and freebies on-hand.
“Euphoria to the ears, the Brandon Callies Band release their latest EP “Life Is Still Good”. Spellbinding riffs and indelible lyrics will captivate you from the beginning. hout a doubt; set the standard high. RATING: “PUSH PLAY””
-Michal Elizabeth Smith, On Tour Monthly
The third release for Austin, TX alt-folk act Brandon Callies Band is the culmination of a whirlwind studio experiment in which namesake Brandon Callies tracked the Life is Still Good – EP unaccompanied before offering the balance of the material to his bandmates. The isolated nature of the recording process endorses itself throughout the final product.
Balanced thematically between darkness and light the extended-play amalgamates electric and acoustic instruments with an experimental take on the singer-songwriter genre. Tales of pain blend effortlessly to tributes of good fortune as the veteran singer cleverly tramps the intersections of desolation and prospect.
Hand Drawn Records is pleased to announce the newest member to the HDR Family, Brandon Callies Band (Austin, TX), and our partnership for their third release; the introspective alt-folk offering Life is Still Good – EP. Slated for July 2013 the issue will be limited edition in nature – only 300 vinyl and 200 compact discs will be produced.
“If you haven't heard of Brandon Callies Band before, then you're really missing out on one of the most unique sounds you'll hear from any indie artist... ’The Gunner’ is only Brandon Callies Band's second album, but I already consider it the best album they've produced and the best rock album I've heard in the last year... I would go as far as to say The Gunner is one of my top 10 favorite rock songs of all time, as I have been listening to it and the rest of the album almost non-stop since the album released late last year.”
– Amanda D, Dallas Celebrity Advisor
“’The Gunner’ is a splendid piece of work, and for anyone who is like me and craves music with deep, passionate lyrics where the vocals are what drives each song, then it is a must listen.”
